I was one of those who got balloted out in 2B MGS but eventually got in under 2C balloting. Towards the last few balls to be picked it was quite tensed, as both twins balls had not been picked. A better result would have been a twin ball being picked last, instead of second last, cos that would mean that the available number of places got increased by 1.. Anyway, I am just so relieved that after two rounds of balloting my daughter finally got into MGS!

Think not necessary the Indian couple got a place in Henry park . It could be they felt they stood a better chance in RGPS as compared to Henry park. That s why they withdrew from Henry park at the last min.
The couple must have had a place at Henry Park cos they cannot be within 1km of both schools. Since their final application is for RGPS, it is logical to assume that try have already gotten a place at an earlier phase and they feel that they are unlikely to be the unlucky 43rd one to be balloted out next Tuesday. So they chose the school closest to where they stayed. -

Only 1 reason why he will give up Henry park. He is within 1km of RGPS. That’s a good reason, no?

Did the school mentioned that all 38 are singapore citizens? The information i have gotten from the school was that 36 are citizens while 2 are not. hmm....Can someone verify please?
I was the number 36 who registered yesterday, and They told me that all were SCs. If the two who registered today were PRs, they wouldn't even have the chance to ballot. Anyway, the balloting is on 25th. Praying hard -

Fully Agree... and the effect will be more PR kids will take up Singapore Citizenship ?? :faint:
:siam:
Now that shouldn't be a problem right? If they take up citizenship and live as citizens, why should we discriminate against them any further? All of us were non-citizens at some point of our ancestry years ago... -

...we need actual figures to ascertain & determine whether going forward into future - Absolute Priority for Singapore citizens need to be implemented across into Phase 1 and Phase 2A1 / 2A2 as well, besides affecting Phase 2B, 2C and other phases.
Even if there's absolute priority for SCs in the earlier phases, if you do not meet the criteria for those phases, you also won't be able to get in. Current policies favour those who have siblings, or are ex-students in those schools, and this is still sound. I'm in a similar situation as many parents. I don't have an alternative plan if my child does not get in at Phase 2B or 2C, even though I live 1km from the school of choice. I just have to pray hard and know that I have done all I can, the rest is up to Him.
