      need some guide for the following question.

      1) there are more pupils in School A than School B.
      30% of the pupils in School A is 45 more than 40% of the pupils in School B. If 10% of the pupils in School A leave to join School B, there will be 200 more pupils in School A than School B. How many pupils are there in School A?

      thanks

      Hi parents, I have a few questions I do not understand. Please help

      1). Ahmad carried home 3 bags of books. The total number of books in Bags B and C is 9 more than the number of books in Bag A. The total number of books in Bags A and C is 13 more than the number of books in Bag B. Given that Bag A has more books than Bag B, how many books are there in Bag C?
      Hi,

      B+C = A+9 (1)
      B+13 = A+C (2)
      (1) - (2):
      C-13 = 9-C
      2C = 22
      C = 11.

      3). Shop A and shop B had a total of 10400 packets of flour at first. Both shops sold 3/5 of their packets of flour. Shop B then had 520 more packets of flour than shop A.
      (a) How many packets of flour did Shop B have at first?
      (b) Shop B sold each packet of flour at $2.25. How much did Shop B collect from the sale of the flour?

      As for 14(iii), using a quick plot on wolframalpha, we can easily see the shape of the graphs involved:

      Jerico:
      Hi,

      Can someone please help with the following question urgently :-

      Q : If a bicycle shop owner offers a discount of 5% off a bicycle's usual selling price, he will earn $85. If a shop owner offers a discount of 20% off its usual selling price, he will lose $20. Find the usual selling price and cost price of the bicycle.

      Thank you in advance for your help !
      Hi,

      Change in discount = 15% --> change in $$ = 85+20 = 105.
      1% >> $7
      100% >> $700 << Selling price
      5% >> $35
      Cost price = $700 - $35 - $85 = $580.

      Area of unshaded small semi-circle = 4 units
      Area of large semi-circle = 4 + 5 = 9 units
      Ratio of area of small semi-circle to area of large semi-circle = 4:9

      Since area is proportional to the square of radius,

      Ratio of radius of circle to radius of large semi-circle = 2:3
