      Hi.

How caring are the teachers in CHS to students?
Can anyone share some good or bad experiences with the teachers?
      Thanks.

      Hi.

I was at the CHS open house few days back and found that one of the teachers at the English booth did not give me a very good impression that he is caring and professional.
Does anyone know if the English teacher for Sec 1 (IP) is ok or not?
      What’s his name?
      Thanks.

      Hi all.

Does anyone know where I can find the staff directory/list for Catholic High Secondary school?
I cannot find it anywhere on the Internet no matter how I search.
This makes me feel very bad as does it mean it is very difficult to work with the teachers to help my DS?

    • RE: 2015 Request for Advice on Selecting Secondary Schools

      Hi all.

Can anyone share knowledge about the principles of these schools?
I like to know their age, how long they have been with the school, any chance they will be replaced by MOE soon.
A lot of the time, it is not just the marketing or the reputation we hear about the schools but a lot of details of how my son will experience in the school depends on the principles himself. I know most principles will be replaced by MOE every 5 year or so and thus was hoping to know when the principle is likely to be replaced. Also, young principles tend to be not so mallow and I hope to see more mallow principles but not also those only waiting to retire.
Appreciate if anyone has kids study in these schools can share. Thanks.

Original Title: Any good before/after school care in Simei?

      Hi.
I am staying in Simei. My kids is registered for Poi Ching P1 for next year.
      I am not driving.

Does anyone know of any good before/after school care in Simei?

It would be good if there is a good before/after school care in Simei as I can send my kid to the school care centre in ther morning and have the school bus pick him up from the school care and send him to Poi Ching by noon.

      Thanks.

Can anyone comment if the before/after school care at Simei Street 4 is good or not? Anyone has any kid there? Can you give me some feedback?

      Which block is it at?

Also, I heard there are 2 school care near Poi Ching. Can anyone comment your experience with them?

Hi amylqf. Why do you have school care in Bedok? Is it because you found it good? What about the school care in Simei Street 4? Is it good?

Heard a lot of before/after school care is no good coz quite a lot of students with bad manners will influence the rest who are good. So I just want to be careful. Thanks.

      Hi.
Anyone can recommend any good Before and After School care centre on the east?

I am staying in Simei. School care in Bedok, Tampines would be good.

I have heard a lot of stories that many before/after school care centre have kids whereby they are very bad mannered. I certainly don't want my kids to mix with too many of these kind of kinds. So, I am trying to find a relatively good centre whereby they would filter the kids quality and minimize this kind of bad mannered kids.

      Any suggestion?

Also, what should I expect for the cost of a before/after school care centre?

      Thanks.

Hi, which area in simei do you stay?
I know there is a simei student care @simei street 4.

Since quite number of anxious parents were asking about feedback of Poi Ching Primary school, I am thinking to post a Q&A here, so that hopefully it will help you in making decision of chosing right school for your child...

      Hi.

Can parents who have kids in Poi Ching share their experiences?
      What’s good that you like?
What’s bad that you don’t like?

My kids is going to register next week for P1.
I am contemplating if I should register for Poi Ching or Gongshang.
We are qualified for both schools with our PV in both schools - Kiasu huh!

      Thanks.

      Hi.

My kid is going to Poi Ching P1 next year.
Any recommendation for good transport arrangement (special van, car pool, etc)?
How is the standard school bus? Do they come and pick up the kids few hours before school starts (coz they need to make long routes to pick many kids)?
Any special transport arrangement that can accomodate CCA hours in case my kids need to sign up for some CCA activities?

      Thanks.

      Hi.

Is there a lot of homework for Poi Ching?
I am scared that every night I have to sit with my kids to support him on his homework … but if only 2 weeks per week may be ok.

Do they offer any help to students who may be a bit slow?
I heard stories that SAP school teachers push parents to have kids go for tuition for many subjects. Does that happen with Poi Ching?

      Thanks.
