      Hi Nat2,

The girls will be allocated to their respective classes before the orientation. The class will stated in the same letter from the school, which I believe, you should receive soon.

Based on my understanding, there are no tests given during orientation. I remember my girl was given a worksheet to read, did some writing and colouring (if that is considered a test?).

There are, however, some forms that parents need to fill up during orientation. You may wish to call the school, after you receive the letter, to check if you can submit these forms on another day.

      Cheers:)

      Hi Nat2,

Other than the School Bookshop or Popular, you may also purchase the books online @pacificbookstores.com. As for house colours, you will know when you receive the letter from the school.

My dd told me the teacher ask them to get the number lock… when they were given the locker. So we got her one then. But she did told me some of her classmates didn’t use lock. And from what I know, so far, no one has lost things from their lockers.

Anyway, she is quite secretive of the number, even we don’t know the secret code:)

Hi, would like to chk w u is there violin ensemble for lower primary student? Does the school offer gymnastic or ballet as CCA? Thks!

The school has prelude-string programme for P1 & P2 students who wants to learn the violin, also offers gymnastic and international dance. But no ballet.

CCA not compulsory for lower primary.

Hi all, can i check, does plmgs provide lockers for the P1 kids? Do they need to bring a lot of books back home and to school? Trying to gauge how heavy their school bags will be. Thanks

Yes, the school provide lockers outside the classrooms. Each girl has her own locker. You need to get a number lock for it.

The girls can keep their textbooks in the locker. Some of the workbooks are also kept by the teachers. So, not too many books to bring back and forth.

Try to get those school bags that are light weight and able to stand on the floor. The school doesn't allow trolley bags, so don't get those.

I live 1-2km away and have always wanted my DD to attend this school when it's her turn. Sigh. Looks like the chance is really slim with all those new developments in the area. for my case, there is no school within 1km at all...

You can try the PV route if you are not from the Methodist church. The school takes in about 20 PVs each year and usually all SC under Phase 2B gets in without balloting.

      RickTan,

Congrats and welcome to the PL family :rahrah: :rahrah:

      Janlav,
Don't worry, usually no balloting for <1km at Phase 2C. All the best next week!! :xedfingers:

Based on my understanding, originally there should be 73 vacancies for Phase 2B and 72 vacancies for Phase 2C. Now, 74 places are taken up at Phase 2B due to a pair of twins balloted in yesterday, leaving only 71 vacancies for Phase 2C.

This is very unfortunate for parents trying Phase 2C this year since every vacancy counts. However, in my opinion, the school has conducted the balloting process fairly and should not be blamed.
