DD has CO from SST. It is a gd news to us initially but heard a lot of negative comments such as SST is preparing students to poly. Understand that the 2013 results was good and more than half of the batch can proceed to JC. How can the school be no gd? Any comment?

My girl has CO from SST. However, I am still unsure what SST is. Is t the same as normal secondary school? Can she go to JC or must go to poly? Heard that it is applied science. What is it ? :?:

1) Mr Lim spent 0.2 of his salary on food and $400 on transport. He spent 0.25 of his remaining salary on clothing and saved the rest of the money. The amount he saved was $300 more than 50% of his salary. What was his salary

His transport can be changed to 4 x $100,
and after spending 0.25 of remaining salary, he left $300,
from the diagram each half bar is $500+$100, or $600
so full bar is $600 * 2 = $1200
Salary = 5 * $1200 = $6000

Don't quite understand the method. The amount saved is not $300 but $300 more than 50% of his salary,

This qn is 1 mark qn. Can someone explain in simple & quick method to solve this.

It is good to receive rejection mail or letter if the child is not selected, to have closure and move on.

Agreed totally. We can move on and concentrate in PSLE. We will not feel stressed waiting for outcome.

Yes, after CCA selection audition, my DD was shortlisted and went to CCA interview today. 4 kids (both sports and musical included) interviewed by Principle and 2 teachers at the same time. A few questions were asked, like how many school did you applied? what will be your decision? How do handle stress?...the question vary depending on the situation. The principle and teachers was so kind and gentle, my DD did not feel any stress during the interview time.

Congrats ! A step closer to selection.
