Laughing Flower:
Hi Laughing Flower,My son is at CD @ Punggol 21 since we moved in to Punggol 6 mths ago. We purposely choose this Child Care as my son likes outdoor activities, and he can't stand whole day staying in the classroom.
The teachers have been very good and help him to adjust to the new environment. So far we are happy with our decision.
May i know how old is your son? i've just enrolled my son in the centre. He will be going there from 1dec.
Can u share more experience? How's the teacher? the curriculum?
Thanks

Hi schellen,
I think he naps too late too. but he would only comes back from sch at abt 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Maybe should let him nap earlier like 2pm to 4pm..?
thanks for your advice. Btw he will be joining childcare in end nov, hopeful all these issue will be solved.
Oh... the children at the childcare will nap from 1 to 3 pm. Hopefull this will work.

RE: How to make your child sleep better in the night?
Hi schellen,
My son wakes up at 8am. His sch bus picks him at 8.45am and comes back at 12.30pm. He will take his lunch, bathe and watch tv till abt 3pm. he will nap from 3.30pm to 5pm or sometimes 6pm. he will play and follow by dinner. He watches tv again from 9pm to 10.45pm. In between watching tv, he will play his toys, trying to imitates the tv’s action. i will off the light slightly before 11pm, on the music and massage him. he will then sleep at abt 11.30pm…
You may think that i should off the light earlier. But prior to this, i used to off the lights and start the soothing process at abt 9.30pm. btm he will still sleep at 11.30pm. thereafter, he releases that there are his fave cartoons at 9 plus, the more he refuses to sleep.
Pls advice -
RE: How to make your child sleep better in the night?
My son is 3 yrs plus. He is sleeping with us in the same room on a mattress beside our bed.
He always want me to accompany him to sleep. The only problem that he has is that he sleep very late. He will sleep at abt 11.30pm if he has any afternoon nap of 1 to 2 and 1/2 hrs. the only time he sleeps early is when he did not nap in the afternoon. In such cases, he will sleep at abt 8plus till the next morning.
How to make him sleep earlier? -
RE: How to work with children with aggressive tendencies
Hi there, can someone help me out…?
My son is 3 yrs 6 mths. Recently, he has been very aggressives at home, at grandparents place but ok in school. He will shout for things that he wants, cry aloud and throw trantrum. He even beat whoever that tries to calm him down from all this nonsense. The situation ended up with me angry, scolding and beat him at his hand or leg.
I know the logic that i should not beat him for beating others. But, i think this is the only way to stop him for doing so. My hubby mentioned abt canning him. But i dun think is a good idea. i think tit wil hurt him physically and emotionally.
Pls help… -

RE: 3Q MRC Junior
Hi there,
i think they are very academic based that’s why you’ll see that there book are quite "chim". i think the P is quite friendly and helpful. I remember the first few days of my son’s school… My son did not cry for the first 3 days of sch. But on the 4th day onwards, he started crying. He knows what he will be expecting. The P sat with him in the bus, comfort him, sing to him. She even call me in the bus when he stop crying. She will take pictures of him during his outdoor play and circle time to ensure me that my son is doing well. The P is very kind as she would call and ask abt my son when he is sick and not been to sch. She would also recommend docs to me.
However, as for my son’s teacher, i think she is not so experience. Why i say that? During the meet parent session, she was not able to answer some of the qns that my huuby and i have. She would merely tell us few occassion that she can rememeber abt the children. As for his chinese teacher, she would be able to tell us more specially on the behaviour of my son, his strength and weakness and even his potential.
Thanks -

SweetDreamzzz123:
Basically, we are very disappointed with Carpe Diem programs. They do not incorporate any 5 \"MI\" teaching as mentioned in their website/student booklet. The quality and standard of the teachers are very low. They have big classes and the teachers spend lots of time to settle down the kids and hence do not have time to teach them and hence heavily depend on enrichment teachers to teach the kids. Too bad for those who cannot afford the enrichment classes. All the exercise worksheets are no different from what you can buy from outside bookshop. They seldom have art and craft (maybe one art and craft in a month).
Hi there, wat u mention is it from CD @ punggol?
