I am a former secondary school teacher and my students have managed to get into both colleges with similar points (2-3).

It really depends on the cohort and intake for each year. It is advisable to rank your choices based on preference and cut-off points for L1R5.

dd got raw score 7, after minus 4 is 3 pt.

wanted to try RI and HCI, past few years cutoff has been 3.
if is partial 3, then not all 3 pt will get in, right?
called up school and was told that can apply both arts and science for the same school since they are different code.
can dd ask for transfer to science if she is offered arts? anyone has tried before?

I had. That's after getting posted into Commerce and appealed to science. However, the school will looked at a few factors. O' level science results, how far are you from cut-off etc.

Your dd will be facing huge competitions since most people will be 3 pointers thus the distance from cut-off is equal among all students. The only difference now is how's the Science results for your DD? all A1 or A1s with A2s? this may make or break. Otherwise, if your DD really wants to do Science, maybe can try NJC etc.
