snowball:(2k+5k)÷2=3.5kKaykate:
Alan scores an average of 2 goals in k number of soccer matches.
William scores an average of 5 goals in the same number of matches as Alan.
What is the average number of goals scored by the two boys?
Ans: 3.5 or 3.5k ?
TIA
ans sheet is 3.5 ( ans sheet is wrong again... :nailbite: )TIA
Oh sorry my mistake! ! Yes it shouls be 3.5
Because it's divided by 2k so the k will cancel out.
I think ans is still 3.5k because,
Average = 7k ( total ) / 2 ( 2 boys ) = 3.5k
I feel that it depends on how you interpret it. Both made sense to me.
If it is 3.5k, you are calculating the number they each score in all the matches.
But if it its 3.5, you are calculating the number of goals they score per match on average.
So the question should have been a bit clearer on which one they are asking for. And it's pretty confusing after reading it a few times actually
my ans is same as yours, Nrth-East but ans sheet is North-West... ( ans sheet wrong ? )
Hmm most likely. Unless they considered clockwise instead which is different from what the qns stated.
