No, they always encouraged me to give it a shot when they found out I was aiming for Sota. It was my friends and family who discouraged me at first (the usual reasons: Sota's academics are bad etc etc), but they came around in the end. And I don't have any seniors who regret joining Sota (as far as I know)[/quote]

Did you ask your daughter's dance teachers to qualify why they said that?

I wish I had the option of SOTA during my time, IB coupled with dance.

I do think our kids are fortunate in that sense.

Congrats!!!!I had called them earlier today and the person who answered the phone said that they were sending out letters today. So they are calling now? It's 630 pm. Fingers crossed.

Apologies I should clarify, I got a missed call at 5.40 and returned their call at 5.50. Didnt post my comment til abt 630pm. The lady on the phone indeed said that the school has sent out the letters today.

Got a call from sota. My dd has a co, under dance.

Congrats!!! I just got a call too. My son got in, but i'm not telling him over the phone. My husband doesn't know yet either. I will tell them later over dinner and see their reactions in person. Everyone has been so anxious.

Your child's TA is today?
How was it?

It was a long day for him. He was going for dance (non-Ballet) and had to undergo 2 workshops in addition to his 2-min performance piece. He was told no street shoes in the studio, thank goodness he had his jazz shoes. He had to do his hip hop piece in them. Another kid had to do it in his socks, which cld have caused him to slip. I really do not recall any notice abt no street shoes. The school should have stated it clearly.

The day ended with 2 interviews. All in all though, it was a good experience for my son.

Just saw him up the escalator for his Theatre audition today.

How did everyone find the TA?

Me too. Theatre and dance non-ballet. On the same email. Anyone else who received that, or had gone in via through those tracks before, and would have some advice for my boy? I appreciate any pointers.
