Good to hear that, peacefulsg and annkarin72, that your kids are settled in Endeavour. Mine too…in fact, he is enjoying too much…haha…Mr Chia sets a very high standard…so can’t expect every P like him. But so far the current P I got no complain yet. Need to get to know more.

RE: express or normal stream
My issue is not more of whether better schools in NA or average school in Express. Rather, the immediate people that will surround him. Even in the better schools, in a NA class, there is a higher chance that he will meet people who are less interested to study compare to in a Express class. Or will a good school’s NA students who say avg 190-200 likely to have the same attitude compare to an average school’s express student who have any average of 200-220.
If a child scores 200 and is easily influence by friends, will going to Express help (to have better mix of friends but risk struggling) or going to NA help (by learning at a slower pace but risk having not so good influence).
BTW I not saying it is like that, but rather raising the possibility and wants to know from experience parents. -

Yeah...saw that too...useful for kids who didn't go through HYPY. I know of childcare who deliberately does not teach HYPY.Hi Keltong,
Actually got Hanyu Pinyin class conducted in Sembawang CC too.
However we are not sure if it's similar to the curriculum currently learnt in the Childcare centre?
Since my boy's childcare did taught them, and he went through Tien Hsia...think don't want to go for another HYPY class. Character recognition is another thing, I strongly feel it is very useful, and also since we are late in signing up for Tien Hsia for next year. -
RE: Endeavour Primary
My boy as been in Tien Hsia since K1, initially struggle badly but now seems to improve a bit. At least willing to converse with my parents in (broken) chinese. Haha.
This year he asked for a break from Tien Hsia so we decided to give him a break after term 4 (which ended). Have not signed up for next year (P1) yet as the weekend classes are all full.

RE: Endeavour Primary
I believe they will be assessing to see if the child meets basic P1 requirements and if not, will suggest to attend certain holiday classes. Of course it is just a recommendation and not a requirement.

Yeah...we all will miss him. Henry Park will surely welcome him with open arms.Hope the next principal will be as nice as Mr Chia! My dd was really sad cos yesterday was the last day she could see him.
Am I right to say that the new lady has no prior experience as principal?
For the new P, I hear she was a VP before moving to MOE. But can't be sure. -
