    • RE: Express or Normal Academic

Hi, my ds score 191 for his PSLE and is eligible to choose either express/Normal (NA) stream. We are planning to choose Express but there are very few school taking in students with low COP in the west. Any suggested school which we can consider? There are only 3 schools in CCK/Bukit Panjang area which can be considered:

      1) Dunearn Sec
      2) Fajar Sec
      3) Teck Whye
      4) ?
      5) ?
      6) ?

A bit wasted to put Clementi Town as 6th choice, maybe can consider West Spring (219) too ?[/quote]

Hmm… will need to look through the school details again. What about other choices? Do you think the chances are high to get in?

      Hi Cloud cloud,

I do not have any particular reason for the above order, I just go with the distance and the CCA which the school has offered. Considering the travel distance, I do not want my DD to spend too much time on the road. Do you think I need to make adjustment to my sequence of choices? Thanks.

    • RE: Secondary Schools Information in West Area

      Hi,

My DD is having his score of 226. We live in CCK area and are exploring schools within CCK and Bukit Batok. Can someone please share if my below choice is wise?
1st choice : Kranji Sec School (COP 228)
2nd choice : Bukit Batok Sec School (COP 222)
3rd choice : Choa Chu Kang Sec School (COP 217)
4th choice: Hillgrove Sec School (COP 209)
5th choice: Unity Sec School (COP 215)
6th choice: Clementi Town Sec School (COP 230) - Didn’t put 1st choice due to distance

Appreciate someone please enlighten me if my choice is wise and the school which I selected are having good discipline.

      Thank you in advance.

    • RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

      Hi mummies out there,

I had successfully balloted into school A for my elder boy for P1 this year. However, our ideal school is school B. Thus, if I am able to successfully enrol my younger boy to school B, can I still transfer my elder one to school B by riding on sibling studying in the same school? Is there any criteria which i need to note? Appreciate mummies here can share their experiences with me.

      Thank you

      Hi,

I am appointed to EM in my GRC since Nov 10 till now and I'm planning to apply the P2B letter to gain entry by this year 2011 P1 registration. My question is will i still qualify for this route given that my serving is less than a year?

Can I appeal if i fail to obtain the P2B letter?

      Thanks

It's about 1/2 yr so difficult, but if you are very very active for these 6 months, you can try appealing. It'll be good if MP notices you. You got to talk to your Chairman for such exposures and introduction. Keep appearing in front of the MP during events. I still remember my Chairman always put us in front during events in 2005/6 when I first joined and I really appreciated it, MP actually remembers most of us and our names (he also remembered where I worked)!!

One final thing you may try is to volunteer your time at MPS (Meet-The-People) sessions where you will work side by side with party members and MP every week! He will definitely knows you personally and that's good enough. By helping at MPS, you need not join the party. Just a suggestion. Hope you get your P2B.

Thanks TimTim for your valuable advises. Perhaps i can consider to volunteer at the MPS session. Or maybe can i appeal to MP for my case? I read somewhere in this forum that there is a special waiver granted for special cases...

      Hi,

Would like to find out since I am a christain and baptised from a non-methodist church, can I still entitled to register my boy under a methodist school under P2B? Is there any other christain schools open to other churches (as in different denomination) ?

      Thanks

I'm afraid not. Unless you become a member of the Methodist Church, you would not be entitled to register in Methodist schools under Phase 2B.

      Hi
So does that mean I need to do a conversion from my charismatic to methodist church in order to enjoy the P2B? Is there really no other schools offering charismatic denomination at all??
How should I go about doing the conversion? Any guidance is much appreciated here.
