Hi Kiasimi,

BINGO!

Yes, I vaguely remembered the earlier 2 names, but I am still in touch with the last name. :rahrah:

Let's get in touch via PM.
Hi chatty,

Hi Kiasimi,

The school was known as Stamford Girls when I was in P1-P4, and merged with the neighbouring Waterloo School to become Stamford Primary when I was in P5-6.
Hi chatty

Do you happen to be in the class that has girls like Wu Jiafen, Ke Meifang, Zhu Lili etc?
Hi Starlight1968sg, Lavender_Tea and Millicent,

I was from Stamford Girls' too! Was there anyone there who was not taught by Mrs De Silva?

I love the old school building. Really misses the times

Of course I was taught by Mrs De Silva. Do you remember Mrs Chow, Ms CK Tan etc?

Those were the old days!

BTW, anybody from 6 Lotus and born in 1968 ?

Me, 6 Lotus but one yr your junior. Cannot believe that I can still find so many ex girls here šŸ˜„ .

All the names of the teachers ring a bell. My Chinese teacher was Mrs Goh? And of cos taught by Mrs Then and Mrs De silva. I just walked into the Waterloo campus a few months ago. I can still remember where my pri 1 classroom was. Was pointing out to DH where the canteen used to be....
Hi Starlight1968sg, Lavender_Tea, Millicent, dumpty and lizawa

Glad to meet all of you here! šŸ™‚

Another former Stamford Girls School here, but my teacher was Mrs Abraham in Primary 1. Anyone taught by her before?

tjkok, can share with me what is the \"X\" factor which made your say that? šŸ˜‰

Hi

My kid is P3 in ZDPS.

Personally I like the school alot because I find it has a very holistic approach in the way it manages the children.

They also regularly hold FOC family bonding workshops for their children.

If you are not looking for a academic-oriented school, ZDPS is a good choice šŸ™‚

NewKSmum:
According to my ds, it was 20 mins for 60 questions and he could not manage to finish all. Just merely able to complete 48 questions.

Wow, 48 questions out of 60 is already very good.

Dividing 20 mins by 60 questions, one can only afford around 20 seconds to answer a question. Assuming, reading takes 5 seconds, shading takes 5 seconds, a student would only have 10 seconds to derive the answer.

How many kids can really do that especially if its a logic question they are seeing for the first time? @.@

Flowermonaster:

I didn't know about this riot thingy during WWII. Thank you so much for sharing. Your son's skill has definitely improve since the last time I visited his blog & of course I still enjoy his comic. Jia you!
Hi Flowermonaster

thanks for your support! You are so nice! It's really encouraging and inspiring for my boy to have loyal fans like you, who constantly give him feedback on his works.

We are glad you enjoy his comics and with positive feedback such as yours, he will be spurred to produce more šŸ™‚

Have you liked our Facebook Page yet? We will update the Page whenever he posts a new entry so you can be kept updated. Might also be considering to run some kind of \"Top Fans\" award to give out some small souvenirs for his loyal fans, keke.

Also, not sure if you are aware that he has another site called \"The Core Comicals\"? This site features more light-hearted comics (just for fun, not educational type)

I believe talents come in all shapes, sizes and ages. Given your boy is all but 12 years of age, it is pretty normal for him to feel insecure. Which is why he requires encouragement to put his creative skills on display. I have Pmed you. Feel free to discuss with me any concerns you may have. Peace.
Hi whitecorp,

Received and replied your PM already šŸ™‚

Wow, we are really delighted to know a Maths Guru like you! And really honored to know that you are willing to feature a humble 12 year old's comics on your site along with other guest writers with tons of experience!

Thank you so much!

Collaborative sharing opportunities like this are wonderful!

Besides what you have suggested in your PM, perhaps we can get you to share some interesting Mathematical scenarios/ problems that my son can draw a comic on, and we can cross-post on both our sites as well with credits /links to both šŸ™‚

whitecorp:

Your son's creations are nothing short of spectacular, was wondering if he is keen to do a guest post for my site? Could help to give him more exposure. Peace.
Hi whitecorp!

Thank you so much! šŸ™‚

My son often feels insecure if his comics or writings are 'good enough' so your suggestion to feature him as a guest writer on your site is a really strong affirmation to the quality of his work!

We are flattered and grateful that you have extended this opportunity to us, and yes, why not? šŸ™‚

Perhaps you can PM me to give me more details of this and we can work something out.

The only thing is that, he is actually taking his PSLE this year, so not sure if he has the time to churn out the required comic in these few months, haha.

Hi all

Lim Kiat Comicals has just released a few new posts.

One of them is on Maria Hertogh who is famously known for causing the Maria Hertogh Riot which happened in the 1950s in Singapore.

In the riot, 8 people were killed and 173 were injured.

Who is Maria Hertogh. What is her story? How did the riot arise because of her?

Read Lim Kiat Comicals's comic to have a good laugh while learning some Singapore history! šŸ™‚
