    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos

Need Advise…I m looking to buy an acoustic piano for my dd who is turning 4 in Dec. She has been attending the junior music class since the beginning of this year and seems to enjoy it. So far we only practice on kiddy keyboard 🙂

Both hubby n I have no music background and we’re based in Kuching. There is only 1 authorized Yamaha dealer here which only sells new pianos manufactured in Indonesia. Prices offered to me are Rm8,690 for JU109, Rm11,540 for JX113T and Rm18,690 for U1J.

There are 3 authorized Wagner+Hailun dealers but all 3 do not actually have any of these pianos in their shops. One of them asked me to fly to the dealer in KL to test the pianos and come back to Kuching to order from her!!!

The rest of the music shops only carry recon pianos of all sorts. One shop offers Kawai ks-3f for Rm9,500 after discount and Yamaha u3g and u3h both above RM10,000. The shop said their recon pianos are made in Japan so sure better than the ones made in Indonesia. BUT, I don’t know any trustworthy piano tech here and I don’t personally know any of the shop owners so I can’t get accurate info of these recon pianos and condition.

So, should I just stick to the new Yamaha? If yes, which model would you recommend?

      Thank you in advance.
