So many Singaporeans default every year on their NS obligations. I want to know:
a. Why these persons come back to Singapore after 4-5 years and still do their NS? If the idea was to try to default, why come back and do NS.
b. Why these guys are jaled after their NS time is over? Why not jail them first, and then send them to the btmc?
c. Why guys are jaled and not their parents? Without the help of parents, the guys will not dare default.
Just my thots

Now that toppers are no longer being announced, and PSLE itself is being done away with, how will such perceptions be formed?
It depends on luck sometimes. Rulang is one example. It becomes ultra super hot after a top scorer emerged from there x years ago. So does that tuition / enrichment centre that girl attended. Even though there is a chance that the top scorer student is an outliner for many years to come, it doesn't matter. A perception has been formed. Everyone will want their kids to go there if they can, hoping that their own kids turns out to be the best as well.sparkling\" post_id=\"1927472\" time=\"1565250474\" user_id=\"21001:
If a school with more than 100 places left start grooming out AL4s, that school will suddenly become popular.

I notice that some of the schools have more than 100 seats left. Just why are the kiasur singporeans not interested in these schoosl? These schools are not located in Pulau Ubin or some other distant location. Why then noone likes these schools? Some of these schools like Anwar Abraham school have been around for 20+ years as well.
Please help me understand.
