Unfortunately there is a recent announcement, GRL will require to stay 30months even if no balloting in phase 2B…..

May you provide any link to the announcement?
I got this from a email originated by the CD. Check with your respective chairman.

To start from 2022 exercise, 2023 admission.

Hello everyone!

May I get some advise? The school I’m looking at falls under the same GRC as where I’m residing; Tanjong Pagar GRC. However the school falls under a different division from where I’m residing though we are grouped under the same GRC. So should I be calling up to be a volunteer at the division that the school is in or the division that I’m staying in? I’m quite confused. Hope to get some enlightenment! Thank you!! 🙂
Unfortunately there is a recent announcement that changed this… GRL will only be granted 2B to schools within 2km of registered address. It will no longer be tied to election boundaries…..

Hi, any parents with children diagnosed with MID and in a Special education sch? I deferred my child for a year and she entered mainstream P1 when she is 8. However, she is not really coping very well and need a lot of guidance to be able to complete her homework. She is also in all the learning support programs & also remedial. I am considering to switch her to a sped sch so it will not be so tough for her. However i don’t know if it will be the right choice and I hope someone can share his/her experience with me.

Thank you!
I'm in similar situation. Trying to defer my child for a year, could you share the process of doing so? Did you apply for mainstream first and defer? was it the advice given by EPIC/Doc? Did you do the school assessment test? IQ test etc?

RC - public housing (hdb/EC)
NC - private housing (condominium/landed property)

Start by joining PA and u will be allocated into a RC/NC based on the address on your IC. During the AGM, get voted into an exco position (chairman/vice/secretary). U will then have the opportunity to be invited to join CCC.

CCMC is another committee from the CC. Different route. U can call the CC to find out more.

Which estate GRC are you?

Err.. all RC/NC are rebranded into RN

Thank you Floppy. We are just considering if all girls school might be a better environment. Absolutely no chance at plmgs even when we are within 1-2Km. 😅

Thank you Lexy. We called up SMPS to ask for the distance breakdown but was declined. And thought it might be really too risky to just give up a secured seat.

Thank you for the inputs. We will save the drama. Be good then . 😂
Think for PLMGS according to pass stats is at most balloting for 1-2KM. So there is chance but might be high risk.

If you can get the RC manager's email will be good. Send reminder email to show your sincerity.
You can't join before May 2021 as you need to be observer for quite a number of months. Some say 6 months, mine is 11 months before becoming EM.

Oh yes, there is still the observer period. So probably I need to ask again and tell them? Hopefully they can help me...

With the COVID-19 situation still not settled, there are no RC meetings and events so it is pretty hard to bring in observers. Might be good to approach the RCM or CM to contact you if there are anything that the RC need help with. so that you can get in touch with the RC members to get familiarise.
There are virtual meetings, lesser events for sure but still have some around. Distribution of NDP fun pack etc.

I am caught the same situation as you. Newly updated from my RC that this year will follow the pre-election border. Maybe you can check on your side too.

When you apply for letter on grassroots connect there was a link that list all the schools in the Constituency for 2020 (pre-election), that is the list to follow.

I got the letter in Early June and there is no list of school attached.
The letter states your GRC, there is a link on grassroot connect within primary 1 registration 2B application that specifics the list of schools in the constituency for 2020 aka the school that will be made available per GRC/SMC.

It's a specific PDF that is label restricted and strictly not for circulation. Unfortunately that list is no longer on the portal.

If I’m not wrong, phase 2B is not using the P1-IS system (the latter auto-fills based on your SingPass data).

2B is using a simple online form, which relies on user-inputted data. So technically the user can key in any random address. And no docs can be attached. So user can key in they are any church/clan member/GRL and the form will still be submitted.

I think there are school staff who are tasked to check the online applications that come in via this online form. Eg call the applicants to verify supporting docs like baptism certificates, etc etc.

So it is quite strange that the school staff cannot see or verify the distance.
The form pre-fill your address from myinfo, but allows you to change it, no docs to be attached.

Hi! Does any know if the new election border will affect our letter? Just realised that both the school and my address was changed from a GRC to SMC based on new election border update, however the letter was based on pre-election constituency.

Anybody have any knowledge about this? Like 2016, registration will be based on pre-election boundary. Will this year be the same?
