Hi everyone, first time posting here. Reading through the recent posts and the info had been very helpful. Does that mean that IP track is definitely not possible for returning Singaporean children?

I am sure there are other successful cases of admission to IP track. Just that there may be limited vacancies and thus increase the competition.

However, for us , we have different beliefs. We put a school with COP above 250 that offers O levels, even though she can qualify for all schools except NYGH and RGS. This is because we feel that this track gives her different options to pursue her passion in arts/design. Can be Lasalle, Poly or JCs, and not just limited to one JC.

Some of my friends who don't know us well will feel it is 'wasted'. However, we discuss with her properly and know it is the right choice.

Complete waste of an effort. Despite getting a list of 100+ eligible schools to apply, my kid got the last school in the entire list of 152 secondary school that Singapore has. Infact he might have got a better school if we had gone through the assured placement route. Its a complete Toto with no reflection on the kid's ability or performance.

Perhaps you may like to write to MOE for alternative options if you don’t take up this school option.

I assume that you choose mostly IP-track schools for your boy.

My girl gets around 130+ school choices too, including IP and O levels track.
After serious thoughts and discussion, we decide not to go for IP track.
We choose for her mostly girls schools from COP 240-254.

A friend who is returning Singaporean (and has many RS friends) tells me that they have done a rough estimation. They feel that intake for RS kids is about 2-3 places each year for each school.
