It seems to me that many parents are enrolling their sons/daughters into music classes such as piano lessons and even sitting for the ABRSM exams at the earliest age possible.
May i know what is the intent in doing so? To groom their children musically? To add more achievements under their belts? Or to use that as an ‘advantage’ in enrolling their children into top schools?

RE: Childcare or no Childcare?
Hi maisy and schellen,
Thank you for sharing the insights!
On the same note, I have two more questions:
Since we can now choose between sending kids to CCC or the ‘conventional’ kindergarten schools, how will each decision impact their primary schools admissions?
I understand that for the more ‘popular’ primary schools, they have a lot more stringent rules in assessing the kids abilities before enrolling them. In that case…would either route (CCC or kindergarten) gives more advantage over the other? -
RE: Childcare or no Childcare?
Hi,
Would like to know what is the biggest drawing point in sending your kids to the childcare centre? It seems that many parents simply send their kids to childcare centre because they believe that this is the trend of the working parents in Singapore. -

RE: All About Teaching and Learning Phonics
Hi all,
I believe that many parents (or at least for Singaporean parents) are concerned about whether their child will grow up speaking Singlish. And on such grounds, most parents would enroll their child into language centres that boast of supplying native English teachers.
How important is the ability to speak proper English without any hint of Singlish? And would phonics lessons eliminate the problem of the child picking up Singlish?
