SV 'popularity' is enhanced by several factors according to my opinion.

First, the intake of P1 in SV has been reduced by almost 10% due to our govt stating lesser babies. (I wonder did they take into account of PRs' children who qualify for P1)

Second, media has played an important part.

Third, PVs applications has not been reduced accordingly.

Fourth, Singapore PRs has increased significantly. ( I was a PV at SV and noticed quite a number of foreign PRs enrol as PVs)

My chance is slim if SV goes into balloting as I stayed >1km. Though I can make SD as my parents stay <1km of SV and is currently taking care of my children.

My other options are DLS (Qualify for 2B) and BEACON (< 1km).

In 2 hours time, I will be making a decision.

      God bless.

      kidstuff,

Seem like South View Primary is a hot school & sure have balloting in Phase 2B. If not wrong now is 66 registered in Phase 2B as check with the school.

      Wish you good luck then.

Agreed...need all the wisdom and luck. Tks.

      Hi kidstuff!

FYI, if you are using grandparent as a caregiver, you fall in the 1-2 km category, even though your parents are staying within 1 km of the school.

Thanks fyi, have taken that into consideration.
