There is a difference in gold award and winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 1,2 and 3, winners will go and meet royals in London. Gold award it’s just a cert. Correct me if I am wrong.

Cool nurse mentioned gold for Queen’s writing competition. Not winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

      Swc’s quote

"let’s remember that there are some kids out there who might have the raw talent but would not even dare to THINK about applying for a school like RI just because they do not think they can."
      Swc’s quote

      Love this paragraph!!!

      Swc’s quote
"Maybe we can be generous and say "Yup we tried. We did not get it so let’s try the other available way"."
      Swc’s quote

Such big heart!!! I am humbled.

Agree with no DSA prep courses! Most sports/domains will need natural talents + many many years of deliberate practice to be right on top. I choose not to live in denial.

well, nowadays, so many kiasu parents trained their children from young since Nursery kindergarten days in

      1) in Sports / Music / Art / etc,

      2) academically, by enrolling their kids in P1 tuition classes, when reach (P1 and P2) level, start enrolling them into GEP preparatory classes, hoping that they can clear P3 GEP test

      therefore, hardly surprising if
by the time these students reach (arrive) at P6, they are already well versesd in

      a) well prepared for DSA, in either (Sports / Performing Arts / Club, eg. Chess Club) specialization

      b) well prepared for choosing an Academic domain, in any of the 4 subjects.
When u apply under Academic, all u need is, to be strong in one single subject, no need to be strong in all 4 subjects concurrently

i am sure u are aware that many kiasu parents enrolled their children in private, ( P1 to P6 up to at least Q1, if not by mid-year) Maths Olympaid external enrichment training lessons ? That’s why out of 4 subjects, Maths is often the most popular DSA (Academic domain) subject, in terms of DSA application, right ?

so, there are a lot of P6 students,
who are well versed in both (Non-academic eg. Sports / Arts / Club + Academic domain in one subject or more)

My girl asked a boy in class at p3, you go for gep preparation, what if you don’t get in? Who are you trying to fool but…
