:yikes: What's the point of giving homework if you are not going to mark it. Sounds more like recommended \"readings\" πŸ˜‚

Actually it's not the teachers' responsibility to chase ..... secondary school liao. Submission of HW is low not just happened to NC only. Even IP schools r facing that too.

      Hi, I'm new here πŸ™‚
My child seems to have difficulty focusing on writing & completing desk bound tasks. Quite worried if he has ADHD.
We are planning for him to get into Palm view Pri as its nearby our place.
Anyone has any feedback on the school's allied educator support, for kids with special needs?

Will very much appreciate your sharing.
      Quite stressed now, haha
      thank you
      :thankyou:

Pls consult specialist to diagnose Ur child asap. And don presume Ur child has ADHD . My kid is in Palm view and he is diagnosed with some medical condition by specialist. For any medical conditions, specialist would provide lots of questionnaire for school to fill up. The school would have to work in a team to observe and fill up the questionnaire. The whole process of communicating with school n specialist may take months. Since child is new to palm view , the school may not know the kid better than daycare. Best to get Ur child diagnosis before he enters P1.

He is doing psle this year. And was placed in a different classroom with all the special needs students during national exams . Don worry about how the school handles such students. As long as they get diagnosed and certified, the school would know what to do.

Hi my child is studying in DHS sec 2. And she is not aware of O level class in sec 3.
Good day. My son is currently in sec 4 DHS.
FYI DHS used to offer olevel for students who could not cope with the IP pace. However they had abolished such system.

If a child is not able to meet GPA 2.4 (must pass English too) or fails / never do well on certain subject, student would have to go for retest. If they never achieve a certain grading or mark (I am unsure about the details) , student has to repeat. My son took a retest cause he did badly in year 3 GPA about 2.5 and failed both Maths & physic + a boarder passed in chemistry. He did a retested for Both maths + chem and achieved A* for all. And he was advanced to sec 4. One of his friend did not achieved school requirement and had to repeat Y3.

Sad to say, one of his year 4 friend would have to go to poly after completing Year 4 (this year) as he is not able to cope well with IP program.

dHS is really a good school. Teachers r caring n diligent. However not all kids r able to cope with the stress. The tension would be more when kids r in senior high (year5) . jC is really ζ²‘ε€©ζ²‘εœ°ηš„εœ¨θ―»δΉ¦ as kids r trying to achieve a better grade for their A levels.

My elder is taking psle this year. I feel that his result should be able to get into DHS. But I would not apply any IP school for him. Just let him go to a better neighbhood secondary school. I don think he could be able to cope with the stress , workload and projects. I will let him go to JC by taking olevels. Maybe he would prefer to go poly. I let him decide after his olevels.

Yes, heard p1 more tricky than p2. But overall, saw smiling kids outside school, so everybody was happy. No Helen and Ivan this year.. πŸ˜‚

bo Helen & Ivan πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚....saw the kids priceless smiles when they stepped out of school.

So do u think the science may be hard this year? I think moe may use a paper to sieve out the cleverest one.

May not having most kids scoring well. There should be some level of difficulty there to differentiate them. English paper was tricky. My dau shared with me the questions but I didn wan to comment anything. Everything is over. Just move on for the next 2 papers

Instead of leaving lines, might be better to first do a top-level plan of what you want to write about. It's just an outline, skeleton of the story. Then you can write as planned, without leaving any lines. I used to do that, and got so used to it that it is mental now, so I can write with the outline in my head.

For situational writing, does paragraphing a must in marking scheme? Cause some schools r taught differently. Like my dau 's school, some classes said must have 3 paragraphing whereas her class 's teacher never taught the students of providing any paragraphing. My neighbor's school said must have 3 paragraphing. Just wondering whether kids would be penalised if never provide paragraphing.
