Kiss, rare guest. LOL

That's cool, abt the haiku and hokkien.

Is she learning hokkien fr school or a project for her to learn a dialect fr family members?

School life is rather interesting compared to my primary school experience. Now they have option to learn Malay at conversational level at no extra monetary cost. Envy.
not that rare, just busy :imcool:

She is learning Hokkien and Cantonese from School and to use it during her interaction with the old folks.

Haiku is some competition in the school

DD1 has no CA1 šŸ˜‰ though I don't mind CA1 to have a check point on her progress. Normal revisions in the school.

She's busy preparing Haiku and hokkien for her afternoon high tea at school next week šŸ•ŗ

I like working but prefer if the hours can be more flexible. like leaving earlier to bring my girls for classes and being able to work from home without worrying about upsetting the boss.

can get to spend time with girls and still work when they are asleep

Thanks Kissgurami for d advices. Today school bag too heavy, will stuff in d arts barang tmr. As for d teacher notes, I didn't c any notes on ger dairy.

Does teacher drop notes on diary or some other communication platforms?

My ger seemed more relax than me abt her school stuff.

The teacher notes are either stapled to the diary or put inside the homework file. I've seen 3 notes + some letters & form so far.

for both 2 girls, homework or simple communication is written in the diary and parents have to sign off on a daily basis. if we have feedback we have to write in the diary also.

If it is an official communication, it will be given through letters. School Newsletter is sent monthly to your email and a paper copy is also provided.

think kids are less worried than we are šŸ˜‰
Hi p1 mums of 2014,

My dd is from purity and timetable is out.
Mon to thurs have PE! Does that mean that they are suppose to wear PE attire for the four days of the week??

      Thks!

My DD is in purity too. On Sunday, she told me that she doesn't like the pinafore too, as it was too hot. However, I was afraid that she would be cold with PE attire this morning as it was raining....

Hi Rick, teacher's note: PE attire without the pinafore for all 4 days. Only 1 day wear white shirt with pinafore.
I had to shorten the hem of the pinafore for my 2nd girl as she felt a little warm. Once the hem is shorten to 2 cm below her knee, she felt it was cooler, not sure if this will help other parents here šŸ˜„

Hi, I find the communication to parents is not very clear since 1st day of school.
I asked my DD, she said tdy teacher asked to write name card to be placed on locker but the locker is not assigned yet.
So for Arts tmr, I only packed the Art book n put the folded button file in her bag. Since she has her color pencil, if needed can use color pencil for her Art. Suppose the teacher will give her art paper if needed tmr. She already has so
many things to bring n the art block is big n heavy, will let her bring it next week then after teacher confirmed locker is assigned.
      Helping out here šŸ™‚

For the locker, the girls will usually draw a picture of themselves or their item and paste it on the locker. The locker is withour a lock hence it is up to individual if they want to get a lock for their child. So far for my 2 girls , there wasn't a need.

the girls can keep things which are used on a weekly basis in the locker. Textbooks arent allowed as they meant to be brought back for revision.

For Art items, the button file keeps the art items tidy in the locker and easier for the girls to bring it to the art room. so crayons, poster paint, brushes palette are placed in button file and placed in the locker.

I realised from my 2 girls ( day and night characters) that different kids absorbs instructions differently. my 2nd girl has a very meticulous form teacher but my girl has Gold 90FM listening so i had a struggle for 1st half of her p1 year so I will drop an email to the form teacher if I am unsure (not all the time usually the teacher's note is clear)

My 1st girl is able to write down word for word from ther teacher so I had a fairly easy P1 time with her šŸ™‚

to sum up, there's anything which is unclear, you can email the Form teacher to clarify šŸ˜„
