megan_muza:Could you advise how the school select students for higher chinese in P1? Thanks!Interestingly, I have always had the impression that Haig Girls do not accept PV, thats why theres no take up during the phase that admits PV.
My daughter is in pri 1 - think she is happy in the school. Not too pressurising but of a certain standards as well.
Btw Higher Chinese starts in P1.

RE: 2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take
Hi Jangoh
Just want to share my experience with you.
We moved about 3 years ago to Upper East Coast, partly to get DD into Temasek Primary as her cousins, god sister and friends are all there. Sadly we didn't even get a chance to PV as there were too many applicants and my skills were not what they were looking for....I supposed. :frustrated: I was so disappointed when I received the PV rejection letter but we quickly moved on to Plan B i.e. to look for an alternative if Temasek gets too competitive at the 2c 1km phase. DD actually consoled me and said it didn't matter - so the person who was really fixated with Temasek Primary was me!
As expected, Temasek was \"red-hot\" this year. And we decided to go for our next choice - Haig Girls School, even though we were out of 2km. Really relieved when she got in.
The fact is that past year statistics can only tell us the possible trends. But projection and actual could be vastly different and no one can predict the outcome. Just have a back up plan and be prepared to make changes last minute if you prefer to go without balloting.
Good luck! -
RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
Hi! My first post on this forum!
If there are more than excess seats in Phase 2C, any child who is registered (despite distance) will get in, right? Only if balloting is required, then they start prioritising <1km, 1-2km, > 2km. Am I getting it right?
Thanks!
