Suggest your DS packed as per they suggest. They are probably engaging in some games and activities which will require the kids to be dirtied, thus the need to change clothes .

And maybe you should consider letting DS bring some \"older\" and \"thinner\" tops (not too hot) and bottoms to the camp. Differentiate which he should wear in daytime and which he should wear in night time for sleep. In case the older tops come back in condition not fit for washing, you can throw them away without feeling too much heartache :evil:. Same goes for shoes.

The top must be school related and we counted we have exactly 5 sets of school related T shirts so he is bringing all.
Bottoms never specified so we just let him bring black colours bottom.
Some parents actually rushed down to ACSI or bibi baba to buy extra t shirts .

Oh btw heard that bibi baba has shifted to Far East Shopping Centre (Not Far East Plaza, is the one next to Liat towers)

The terms \"cheena\" and \"chink\" have been used on Singaporean Chinese as well. It all depends on the context. My friend encountered a racist slur when she was in the US. She was called a chink, among other nasty things.

Read from newspaper that this year is the 1st year for the year 4 boys to have gap semester, any idea how many students will go overseas and how many will stay in singapore? Will there be many go overseas and which countries will most of the boys go?

Kitcat, don't worry. Your DS is not the only one like that. My DS seldom tell us that he has test or the test scores. I often get updated on what is happening from this forum and then ask him for further information. He said sec is very different from primary sch. The teacher don't ask them to get parent's signature on test papers. He seems to be enjoying school and cca. So I guess things should be ok.

Yes most of parents with kids in secondary school will experience this process called 'letting go' Shouldn't you be glad that he wants to take ownership of his work? And he does seek your help when he has difficulty. Looks like your son has adjusted well and is matured. And why do you want to check his homework :? Even at upper pri school, we don't really check anymore rt. You can't hold his hand till uni, the faster he become independent the better. If he makes mistakes he will learn. Of course we parents must be out of picture and move to support role only. Let go - let him soar to greater heights.
