I got info from my DD few years back, she applied NUS medicine and went through interview, after long waiting, she was finally offered the Second choice course other than Medicine, it imply she was no longer in NUS Medicine waitlist.

I have a query quite similar to that of Seya also.

For my DD's case. After being put on waitlist by LKCMedicine, she went on to accept SMU's Double Degree in Accountancy & Business under LKCSP (ie. her 1st choice course in SMU) instead of NTU's Double Degree in Accountancy & Business (ie. her 2nd choice course in NTU after LKCMedicine) and NUS's BBA (Acc) programme (ie. her 2nd choice course in NUS after YLLMedicine).
In fact, she preferred NTU's Double Degree in Accountancy & Business to SMU’s version but decided to go for the latter due to the LKCSP scholarship offered by SMU.
Fortunately, after few weeks of wait she finally gotten her LKCMedicine waitlist conversion notice. We are all very happy with the outcome. But in retrospect, we cannot help to wonder if the outcome would be the same if my DD were to accept NTU's Double Degree in Accountancy & Business instead of SMU’s version.

We had discussed and reviewed this entire situation with some people and a few of them came out with this “hypothesis”:
Assuming all admission offices have full access to the joint admission portal and have clear picture of the list of courses offered to the students by fellow local universities and also the courses the students have already accepted, an admission office of a University will have less “urge” to “poach” a student who has already accepted an offer from another faculty of her own University. That being said, there is a likelihood and does make logical sense that they would rather “steal” talents from other competing Universities. Assuming the above hypothesis is true, could this be one contributing factor that favoured my DD’s bid?

In that case, meaning your son ain’t really filling up any LKC spot for this year. Technically speaking it’s a positive news for the fellow folks with kids queuing in the waiting list.

Forgive me for my lack of understanding of how the NS disruption thingy works. May I know if your boy is able to secure his NS disruption at this late admission timing?

My main concern is if there is ever a cut-off deadline (say set internally by Mindef) whereby NS disruption application/request is no longer possible for the boys, does that mean that LKC/YLL has to fill all the remaining gaps of this year's intake only with female students? Does it work in this way?

Awaiting kind enlightenment from folks who are familiar with the system.

Other than "excruciating", I cannot find a more suitable word to describe this wait.
In fact I didn’t expect her to get the conversion so early or even at all. She only scored 3As and 2Bs (GP and Econs) and was rejected outright by NUS.
In view of this, I strongly believe and also sincerely hope that more conversion offers will ensue for u my fellow folks.

I guess that it should be around now and end before 17 June (2nd acceptance window). Offer would make as and when places are available. This was stated on LKCSoM information leaflet sent via email to those after their MMI interviews. NTU will definitely send notification to those on waitlist regardless of the outcome.

I have heard that the waitlist was around 60. At the moment we hope for the best.
