    • RE: My First Skool (former NTUC Childcare)

      Hi

Can anyone share how well your child perform in MFS regardless of any locations? i read thru threads here, majority says happy and enjoyed school but are they learning?

Maybe we judge, when test kid who’s in Nursery, he able to do +
Recongise words like car, ball, the, draw, colour etc
Able to count 1 to 100. Able to Rhymes nursery rhymes.
Able to reconise approx 20 of the basic chines 笔画 (eg 横(一)、竖(丨)、撇(丿)、点(丶)、捺(㇏)、折(乛)

I have read some thread thatMFS curriculums are not so good eg. Nursery they only learn 1 to 20. K1 then start maths, K2 no spelling etc.

Can some one tell me what your kid learnt or how good he she performed with the condition that both parents are working, hardly any time to give coaching.

I remembered this place in middle road - selling pineapple 'balls' - you remember we were 'talking' about this last year? its quite good, i enjoyed it too.

Happened to be around Middle Rd today and decided to check out LeCafe since so many ksp forummers raved about them. Tried their pineapple balls and they're good. However, found them a bit pricey tho but there's a lot of filling and the crust, nice and buttery, so I guess one pays for quality. Also tried their kueh bangkit... nice. Somehow, reminds me of how my grandma used to make them for me years ago

They are still taking orders but collection is on 1 and 2 Feb. So, for those still interested, better do it soon before they stop order taking. According to the staff there, some Singaporeans placed their orders 7 months ago :!:

if walk in they die die won't sell you???

    • RE: Pat's Schoolhouse

      J7mum,

Is it true they use catered food. Am dissapointed with such move.
Their school is so crowded and full, they should able to engage a cook to prepare fresh food for our kids.

How’s the teachers’ quality? The last time was there, their the chinese teacher quite pleasant. Seriously with their amount charged they should able to have good quality of teachers, environment & food.

    • RE: Little Skool House

My 1st kid in pte school (during N1 & 2) learnt phonics, Number. 1 to 100 and addition for maths . Now might need to transfer him to MLS, together with my No.2 kid. I heard their Nursery only count 1 to 20 and K1& 2 no spelling. Kind of worry about their curriculums. Does anyone have the same concern and also do you know what enrichment does MLS offer? Am little Kiasu and would like my kids to learn more.

Also I noted that for Pte school, they use P/T teacher. Usually till 11.30am or so. And during June or Dec holiday these P/T teachers totally not teaching in school. Do you think is fair for the students in Full day CC and parents that are paying for it. The school fee $900/- (whether subsidies or not school still gets $900 right?)
