RE: All About Piano Lesson Costs
It has been too mysterious about DSA via Music. What I am saying, from the facts that I know, is that the schools may be looking at traits that go beyond certificates - a kid who has the right attitude in learning and showing passion about music. The requirement of winning prizes at National or International level is a myth. For the kids, just encourage them to be themselves and be natural. That will help them in a long way…

RE: NAFA SYT Diploma Courses
classicalpiano88:
Hi, if I'm not wrong, the fees for diploma in NAFA SYT depends on the teacher. Some teachers such as Benjamin Loh charge as much as $120+ per hour, whereas some charge the market rate of around $80/hr
Classicalpiano88, Thank you.
Excuse me for my ignorance, does it mean that even you are selected to be in the SYT Diploma course, you have to find your own teacher? If that is the case, then I do not see the difference between learning from private teacher and attending SYT course. Except the group lessons on viva voce/program note and masterclasses. Do I miss out anything? -
RE: NAFA SYT Diploma Courses
Hi, does anyone have the experience of applying and attending the SYT’s piano diploma courses?
How difficult to get in if the student is not from the SYT’s graded classes.
It seems to be a good course. They mention that at least 16 hrs practical lessons per semester but do not state the fee. Same for the theory part. Any idea roughly how much they charge ? -
RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos
waiyean:
Yes, you are right. It was probably more than 2 years ago.
Hi KKKS,KKKS:
Really envy you!!!!!!
Is it the piece in the showroom? My daughter kept telling me that that is the best Grand she has played. We have in fact tried quite a number. I also think it is one of the best. Somehow, the acoustic seems very good at PianoMaster. My daughter would be sad if I were to tell her that it was gone! Haha! But come to think of it, can we go to play at your place? Just kidding!
So, who is the lucky one in your house to own this piano?
When did you try the Grotrian grand at Pianomaster? From what I know, the last time they had a grand there at the showroom was 1-2 years ago. Anyway, my order was placed end June, and they are building it at the factory. So it's unlikely to be the piece you tried.
The piano is for my daughter.
So, you bought the grand without trying it :scared: You must have alot of experience or very confident in Grotrian!!
Is your daughter at higher level ? Enjoy playing!! -

Hi KKKS,KKKS:
My daughter once tried the Grotrian Upright and Grand at Pianomaster. She loved the Grand so much. In fact, we all loved it. I would buy that Piano if I have another chance. waiyean, did you get the Grand or Upright? Good choice, anyway!
Yes, I got the grand, model Grotrian Cabinet 192.
I am soooo looking forward to its delivery....
