I enjoyed their Open house last Saturday.
I would like to know how are the teachers in general? and especially on helping the students in the weaker subjects?

Hi, I am new to this thread. Is anybody here in the Parent Support Group? How supportive is the parent support group? Do you always see transfer students? How do the school and parent support group help to support the transfer child? Thanks.

RE: Suggestions on what to do when maid is on home leave?
Hi,
Sorry to use this thread.
My helper too will be returning for a month sometime in April or May. During then, I need some help to manage my two children - one 8years old then and other 18months old toddler.
What are the suggestions that I can explore as both my husband and I are at work and only returns home around 7pm? -

RE: Home Leave for Indonesian helper
My mom’s helper is looking to go back to her town in Indonesia for two weeks in late August.
It so happened that her passport will expire in mid September and her work permit a week before.
We have received a letter to ask for us to bring her to medical checkup.
We are now lost what steps we should take. She is no longer with agent as she has been with us for more than 8 years.
Also we are not renewing her work permit and she is presently looking for her employer herself.
Appreciate any advice. -
RE: Really impossible to direct hire Indonesian maid?
Hi,
I have some queries on the procedures.
My mom has an Indonesia helper whose work permit will be expiring a week or two before her passport expires.
My mom has intention of not hiring her any longer and asks her to start looking for her new employer herself.
The helper wants to come back to Singapore still.
Should my mom go with her to renew the passport and renew the work permit with her before she goes back?
Or should she have the new employer to take over these necessary procedures given that when applying for the passport it is required for the embassy to receive the signed contract on her new salary she would be given?
What if we do not renew her passport and send her back instead and let her sort her passport renewal while she is in the country, would this be easier for her? -
RE: Seng Kang Primary
Pris.tang:
Hi Pris, good to hear on that. That explains on why I saw a kid wearing a different SK shirt. The polo shirt looks nice. Hopefully they keep it but just add on the formal attire. Isn't good for a school to keep changing uniform too.
Uniform is still not finalized YET current uniform will become PE attire guess what once the new uniform is announced that will be the 3rd change already personally i prefer the current uniform to the 1st one material wise this is better, but parents are still allowed to let the kids wear the old uniform though i hardly see any but i still do lol.
Now am already seeing the black shoes being worn am going to swap my kids shoes too black shoes are good no need wash LOL so awaiting the collection of the shoes.
For me i adore my son's teachers they are very very dedicated and is with their endless support hes blooming as in he has no tuition or anything but his scores are in the 70-80s range. Teacher's are very encouranging.
Same cant be said for my younger girl i feel she bloom better with me guiding her, honestly SK is a very good pri school in my opinion, alot more hands on then books on.
Anyway good to know this school is more hands-on than just hard learning. Makes learning more fun and creative.
Looking forward to have my elder child in school next year.
