    • RE: Thermal pot

Hi, I used my thermal cooker a lot, in fact, everyday. Sometimes I even used to keep my pasta and sauce to keep them warm before my kids return from school for lunch.

I do share some of my recipes with the thermal cooker. Just today, I share my chicken stew (http://www.ladyclique.com/?p=388) using the thermal cooker instead of the slow cooker, since can save gas and money. 🙂

    • RE: Simple Recipes to Share

I would like to share my grilled salmon. I think the trick to cooking salmon, try to cook on the same day that you buy, so that it is fresher. I read from some website before, usually salmon will taste nicer if cooked on the same day.

      Ingredients:
      1 piece of salmon
      1/2 lemon
      salt
      sesame oil
      freshly grounded black pepper
      1 orange
      2 teaspoon of sugar
      1 tablespoon of corn flour

      Steps:
Step 1:Marinate the salmon with salt, sesame oil, black pepper lemon and orange.
Step 2:Put the salmon aside for at least 1 hour.
Step 3:Grill the salmon on LOW for about 12 minutes.
Step 4:Bash the salmon with the leftover marinate occasionally.
Step 5:Heat up the wok, add the left over marinate and sugar.
Step 6:Add a bit of water into the cornflour, mix well, and pour into the wok slowly to thicken the sauce.
Step 7:Either pour the sauce over the salmon or put the sauce aside for dipping.

      Enjoy!

    • RE: Queenstown Primary

      Hi all,

my kids just transfer to QPS this year in Apr.

They are only in the school for about 4 months, but I like the school a lot. The principal is approachable and friendly. The teachers are dedicated and caring. I also realised some change in my kids too. They love reading more now than before.

Have not made a wrong choice.

My son is in P4 this yr, my girl is in P2 this yr.

Hope to interact more with parents from QPS. 😄

    • RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I have moved to commonwealth to stay already. However, my kids arev both still studying in Choa chu Kang primary. But it is really tiring to travel bet commonwealth and chua cihu kang. I did not transfer them afterall as both did last yr. It is really not easy to get into nanyang and nan hua.

Now I am thinking about transferring them to the 3 options below:
      1. Zhangde pri
      2. River Valley pri
      3. Fairfield Methodist pri

Can anyone share their comments and any experience in tranferring to these 3 schools? I got 1 more headache as I am doing for both kids.

Wow! That is a good idea. Seems like I got a lot to learn from here.

But just 1 last problem now. From MOE website, I know that the schools are changing principals, so how? Will the current principal word be effective? Or should approach the new principal?
      Thank you GrandMaster!

How to get to meet the principal? I heard that for some of these popular school, it is not easy to arrange an appointment with the principal. If call up General Office, they will entertain such request to meet the principal.

      Any good idea?

    • RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I went down to 2 schools of my choice but was disappointed with the reply that I get when I went down. It seems that at both schools, both are parent volunteer tending at the General Office. Both not sure what to do. One told me must go through the website to submit for waiting list. The other say write in to principal. I wonder if principal will read such email?

Any other suggestions to get the principal to get to read my application before it is dumped in the dustbin?? 😢 I believe only if the principal read through then got a chance. Heard from insider information, usually must have some connection inside, get some pp in the school to pass your application to principal then got higher chance to transfer. :?:

    • Mummy kwokwc: I am new here!

      Hi all,

I am new here. I was searching through the internet on how to transfer school that I chanced upon this site. Happy to find this site and hope to find information and friends here too.

My eldest son is in P3, my second girl in P1 and my youngest girl is just coming to 1 year old. Not easy to handle 2 schooling kid and a baby. With the baby, I am ‘stuck’ with her and not much time to supervise my 2 older kids. Lucky both of them still doing alright in school.

I will be very happy if anyone can give me more information on transferring of school. I have already posted under that section.

    • RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

Hi, I am new to this forum but find the information so interesting and informative. Would like so help or advise from other parents here.

I am planning to move from Choa Chu Kang to Commonwealth next yr Mar. So also need to transfer my 2 kids from a school in CCK to one nearby. Not quite willing to transfer to Queenstown or Newtown as I believe that both my kids can do much better and in a more ‘lax’ school, I am also worried that my boy will think that he is very good already and not want to study hard.

Just get to know that he is selected for 2nd round of GEP, can I use that as a good support to transfer him into a better school such as Nanyang or Nan Hua or Henry Park even if he is not selected into GEP?

My girl is in P1, can I use the reason that the school must accept both then I transfer my son to the school? How high chance is to transfer at P2 in these ‘popular’ school.
