If there are better suggestion, we welcome any advice. Thanks in advance!

3. Bukit panjang govt high school (Cop:244)
4. Swiss cottage sec school (Cop:242)
5. Clementi town sec school (Cop:235)
6. West spring sec school (Cop:225 *Distance of school nearest to home)

RE: Beacon Primary
Hi Parents,
Any of your child starts enrolling themselves into a CCA at P3 level? Most of the CCAs are scheduled on Thursday at 330pm-530pm. How do your child manage her time, between 1:15pm - 3:30pm before CCA starts? Do they usually go home first for lunch then back to school for CCA? Will P3s have problem completing their homework/managing their time on CCA days? My child is currently taking school bus and reaches home at around 2pm. It probably will be tiring (and quite rush) for her to travel to home for lunch and back to school for CCA… How do you & your kids manage ??
Thanks! -
RE: Beacon Primary
Hi Vividlaurel
I did ask my gal about the schoolwork and why she did not finish at school…she said no time to complete at school…not too sure if the teachers didnt give them time to finish at school or just bcos she’s slow…will ask her again today…
My girl is taking PM6 but on Tuesdays, they changed her to PM1…she didnt mention about bus taking trips before picking them up, only that there are more drop-off points now and taking a longer route… -
RE: Beacon Primary
Hi Vividlaurel,
Thanks for the advise. Somehow I feel some changes too…there used to be little homework when she’s in P1 but now, everyday there’s work from school. Btw, are your kids taking school bus? My girl takes school bus and she only reaches home 45min or 1hr after school dismissal time, though our home location is less than 1.5km away from school. (Last year, she came home around 1:40pm or 3:30pm every Tuesdays) Take yesterday for instance, she reached home at 4pm though school dismissal time is 3pm. After her bath and snack, it’s nearing 5pm before she started working on schoolwork…there’s almost not much time for a good rest…I cant imagine when CCA kicks in… -
RE: Beacon Primary
Hi vividlaurel/precious jam,
saw both your messages regarding the extended hours at school..does your child attend tuition too? My child is at P2 level and has just started tuition lessons 3 days a week for Eng, Math, Chinese :P... With the longer school hours and compulsory CCA at P3, cant help but worry how my girl's going to cope next year...sighed...really not easy for the child. -
RE: Beacon Primary
Hi parents,
can anyone advise if all text & exercise books need to be brought to school on first day of school? I understand some books will be kept at school. My child was at a different school for the first half of last year so arent sure how things are like at Beacon on first day of school. I just realised my child’s schoolbag is already so heavy with just the core subjects’ books in it…
Would appreciate any advise…
Thanks! -
RE: Beacon Primary
Dear Parents,
My child will be transferring to Beacon Pri wef Term3. She will be assigned to Class 1/1 (P1). Is there any parents whose kids are at class 1/1?
Would like to know more about the curriculum covered for Term 1 & 2. Has there been a lot of homework or project work done in the past Terms? Would welcome any feedback or comments pertaining the school.
Thanks!!
