Strange. Anyone receive any rejection email from RGS if unsuccessful so far? I called RGS and they said regardless of successful or unsuccessful, an email notification will be sent out. DD still waiting for invitation email for DSA Rhythmic Gymnastic. :xedfingers:
RGS has already sent out email invites for interview (no sports trial yet) for Rhythmic Gymnastics last week. I hear of interviews for 19jul and 20jul.
Hi there, my dd at sec 1. Can I know when are they going select their Cca?

My dd said that there will be a sports trial next Fri. They were informed at the CCA briefing during the orientation. As for other CCA, there's no news yet.

The sports trials are for every pupils , right ? ( or is there any changes?)
As for the other CCA, in the past, it was ard the 3rd to 4th wk, after the sports trials...
but considering this yr, the sch term started 1 wk late.....
Noticed from my son's band schedule that year 1 CCA exhibition is on 19 Jan this year. So the CCA selection can only be submitted online after that.

Based on the last year, the selection result was only out after cny.

I am puzzle....so far, the day for 3 rd lang doesnt clash with the sch timetable....

hi

dd is not in dhs

thus, her school timetable actualy clash w 3rd langg or rather, e timing is simply too tight
I think you can approach MOELC to change the 3rd Lang day. I know of someone who did that last year because it clashes with his CCA. He was also not from DHS.

Know of somebody (from mainstream) who scored 265+2 & was posted to one of the 2 classes. Not sure why???

Yes, in my son's class (one of the SBGE classes), they have students from mainstream with 25x also. I suspect they look at math and science grades. So far those I know all had A* for these 2 subj.

But don't be too bothered by these 2 classes, because like what Augmum said, they all sit for the same test and exams and same assignments. Only 1 diff I see is that for IH project they had an extra component.

By the way my son is in yr 2 now.

Oh....this is something new to hear abt ( with 25X).....thks for the info.

But if they will to look at Maths and Science grades,
there are many pupils with A* in Maths and Science in all classes, considering that there is quite a number of 26X scorers.

During my gal yr ( 2010 sec 1), pupils with 271 were also not placed in the 2 SBGE classes....
Yes, I also know of 27x not in the 2
classes last year. But there are a couple of 25x. The only similarity is all of them got A* for the 2 subj.

But what u mentioned is quite true, with 27x, they should have at least 3A* if not 4. Hmm, really don't know how they group them :?

Anyway, in which ever class they are, they are all bright kids. šŸ™‚
Just curious. Do all the kids (non GEP in their pri sch) posted to class 1K/1L all scored 270+ ?

Should be.....(unless there is a change this yr)
But as i mentioned b4, there are also 270+ ( mainstreamers) in various classes.....

Hi,

Can someone share what is the process for subject combination selection at end of year 2?

And what is the criteria they look for in granting subjects?

Any min GPA inorder to take 3 sciences and 2 maths?

Thanks.

For yr2 subject combination, pupils will receive application forms via their DHS email.
Submission is via online.....

U are given 3 choices for sbj combi and 2 choices for subjects which u wish to be enriched in (subject to approval).
The selection criteria for enrichment is based on your subject's grade, teacher's recommendation, acheivements in competitions related to that subject, etc.....

For 3 sciences and 1 hunanities, this is under 8 units..
Pupils with min GPA of 2.8 will be eligible for 8 units....else can only take 7 units....
Pupils taking MEP or AEP or 3 rd lang who still want 3 Sciences will require GPA of 3.2 and above.....

Thanks for the information, this is very helpful.

A consoling one.

:gloomy:

Sorry to hear that. Hope your dd gets in via her S1 posting.

Thank you jtoh.
Am sure My dd will take this better than me coz she practically has forgotten about the dsa to Rgs.
:yikes:
GLORYmum, the kids will be fine. I was in your shoes last year. DS didn't make it to RI. It seems to be his dream Sch then. But today he is very happy and proud to be in DHS. Seeing him so happy now, I'm no longer sad that he didn't make it into his dream sch.

My DS said maths was tough, he has 2 questions which he confirm don't know how to do.

And they have received they geog paper yesterday.

My DS is very in consistent with his test and quizzes, that's why I'm worried about the overall GPA.

I think inconsistency in tests and quizzes is not unusal, as they are tested on
different topics, areas and answering skills ( esp for essay questions).
Cant compare now with Primary schs' consistency results.

Thanks for the reassurance. I thought it's because of my DS being slack.
