• RE: Bread shop / Bakery

I used to buy bread for my kids for breakfast. But i soon realised that jams and spreads are actually a better choice. So i started getting different kinds of spreads so as to let the kids get to have a different combination of spreads every morning.

I chanced upon this chocolate crunchy spread, Ovomaltine Spread, at Candy Empire. It tastes similar to a Nutella Spread but with Crunch. It is on the chocolatey side but it is delicious!

Just a suggestion to those who are sick of joining the long queue at bakeries in the evenings.
Hi Mums

I pack a Sandwich for Daughter's recess and a snack box (assortment of biscuits) for bus journey home.

Any suggestions for a healthier snack box that will last until past 1 pm ?

Think all that processed food I give her as snack box will not be good for her long term.

The daughter said that bread will \"harden\" so will not eat it as part of snack box.

I pack cereal for son. You know those small boxes of cereals from kelloge, nestle... Etc? I need to prepare breakfast/tea break for my child every mon/we'd/fri. As I am a full time working mum, I always end up buying buns the day before. Due to the length of time between buying the bun and child eating the bun, I don't really have a lot of choices (in terms of buns). Sometimes, worse - forget to buy. So I come up with this idea - cereal - as back up plan. My child eats cereal \"kosong\" I.e. Without pouring milk into cereal.

      Anyone has other ideas?

My girls love cereal kosong. As long as your kid loves it, i think it's fine. If you want to be creative with your cereal, you can bake honey joy, coco pop coat w honey (you can google the recipe - very easy & kids love them). I used to have to do all these stuff when i was in Aus as their tuckshop choices are boring. Nowadays, i thought kids love to buy recess food from their school tuckshop? I used to fried noodles, make soba, fry udon, make sushi, etc etc for their recess. Hehehehe.... all their classmates will crowd round dd to check out what's her food for recess :)

For cereal, I found the Ovomaltine Cereal at one of the Candy Empire shops. It tastes really yummy and crunchy. Not only my children likes it, it is stated to be nutritious too. Refer to picture as attached.

    • RE: All About Birthday Parties

For birthday party goodies and snacks, i went to Candy Empire the other time to shop for them. It was the best decision ever. They have a wide variety of products at the kids section and door gifts as well! Will definitely drop by again if i need to get party goodies and chocolates for the kids!
