anyone knows there is bus service fr PLMGPS to whampoa area? Tried to contact the bus operators but to no avail.
I used to know of a girl staying in Balestier area, she only managed to take the school bus for a year and after that the school bus uncle stopped picking up kids from the Balestier area. As a result, the poor child has to trf out of PL after P1 as both parents were working back then and no one was able to send the girl from Balestier to Lor Ah Soo. That was couple of years back, you might want to check again. -
RE: Stamford Primary
hardcore:
I guess it's not such a popular school because of it's location. It is not located in a densely populated estate and furthermore it's an ageing estate with more old folks than young families. I think it will be good if you can attend their open house if they do have one to know more about the school. I've left the school for more than 25 yrs, culture has definitely change so it's difficult for me to give any fair feedbacks of the school.
Do you know why this school is so \"quiet\" in terms of popularity? Also how is the location like? i am looking at it mainly as I am living in CBD area near Bugis. I was hoping of seeing how the students are like, etc.... short of actually \"visiting\" the school. -

Long, long time ago, this school was called Stamford Girls' School; I studied there.
Same here, I was an old girl from the school. Back then, discipline was pretty strict however I did have very fond memories of my years spent there. Till now, I still remember Mrs Wan, our lovely principal. Some teachers that have taught me were Mrs Lim-Yeo, Mrs De Silva, Miss Rita, Miss Wee, Miss Then etc
The classes were named after flowers namely Lotus, Orchid, Rose & Sunflower.

It all depends on your health condition, some women at 40 plus still very energetic & on the move, however I do know alot started to get joints problem. It is definitely going to be more taxing physically & mentally as compared to the time when you've your 2 older ones many moons ago.....got to really think hard on it. If you really get preggie & have ur 3rd one, do update on tis thread...cos I wanna congratulate uHi Lavender_Tea,
Thanks for yr note. I am not worried abt the dragon year.. I have already got one dragon so I know what to expect.
I have a boy and a girl so if i do have a no. 3 he/she can go to jie or gor school so is ok on the pri school arrangement.
My concern is whether I got the stamina ... I am going to mid 40 liao
Cheers!

If finances & health is not a problem, I think you should go for it. I regretted tt I did not go try for a 4th one. PS : Remember that 2012 is dragon yr, another yr of baby boom and competition, of course. 2011 is a better betHr 24 hr-mum
sometime i think if i dun have no.3 soon i may regret later on... so in a dilemma

RE: Club SAHM
24hr-mum:
I've been a SAHM for 4 yrs and is still very much enjoying every moment of it.....my youngest is only 7 yrs old & I'm hoping to see him thru PSLE so by then I might be too old to be employable. Me too, I've no plans to go back to the workforce as of now.....I think it's kind of a blessing that we're able to be SAHM, I've known of some that are unble to do so due to duo-income is necessary within the household.just a poll, how many sahm among u plan to go back to work? when kids are how old? ever worried abt cant find job, no $, no savings, no allowance, no cpf?
i hv no plans to go back yet. hvnt think so much -
RE: Club 3 or more Kids
First of all, I wuld like to thank 24-hr mum for initiating on this thread, it's a great one!! Kudos to all mummies of this club cos 3 & more is really a handful.
I started to be a SAHM 4 yrs ago, I've a girl (12), followed by 2 boys (10 & 7). I've got no domestic help so I am training my 2 older kids to help out with some simple household chores. Guess it benefits both mummy & kids, mummy welcome the extra help and kids get to learn some lifeskills....

RE: Cedar Girls Secondary School
Hi JolynHo
I guess so but I think % of such cases is low. Whether they will get in eventually will depend on e sch selection criteria n I think most schs will accept e child with a better aggregate. Just my two cents count.JolynHo:
Hi,
Any successful appeal so far from Cedar. My dd got 248 but was not successful so we appealed again yesterday. Just want whether Cedar started processing those appeals.
Thanks
Hi surbap,
I was at the school this morning and was told COP is 248 and only 6 girls with aggregate of 248 got into Cedar. The mean is 253 & the highest aggregate is 269. Apparently, there are many appeal cases and some girls are appealing with aggregate of 250 & above.
I suppose many schools will finalise their appeal cases by early next week. You might want to call the school to check further.
U mean those that did not put Cedar girls as one of their 6 choices can also appeal???
-
