      Hi there,
We are SC and I just applied for PV for next year as my kid admission is year 2023. Our new place is within 1KM from Qifa which will be ready in 2021 I guess.
We received a reply email that there will be an interview conducted.
Is there usually an interview conducted or is it because there are too many applications?
May I ask how is the interview like?
      Thank you~
      Hi,
Yes they conduct interviews before accepting PV parents. Remember to bring your kid if they asked you to do so.
Just some questions on background, what you do and why you chose Qifa. Some small talk with your kid too.

Hi all, just wondering for those with kids going to Qifa in 2021, did you receive any letter yet? My child got into Qifa last year but we deferred her and although sch has confirmed a vacancy for her next year, i haven’t received any information yet.
No letter yet. Only an email today to confirm MTL.

      Hi,

Anyone in the middle of doing PV for the P1 registration this year?
I’m wondering with the current virus situation how’s the schools going to continue with it. I’m just half way with my hours.

LC9, sorry for late reply as I hadn't logged on until now. I emailed MOE in March this year, and school registration is in July this year.

Yes it is strange - maybe you try to email MOE again?
Thanks for the reply chanlm. Did you ask the school that you are registering in?
Yeah i think i will email MOE again

LC9 - I’m in the exact situation as you - MOE gave me a different reply. Basically said (1) register using docs showing ownership of property (2) show TA end date - must be before commencement of school year (3) undertake to change address in IC by commencement of school year
Hi chanlm, may i know when did you ask MOE? Did you email or call? And when is your school registration?

Strange and worrying that they are giving 2 different answers here. But the school and MOE gave me the same response, which is use the NRIC address only.

      Estéema, thanks for highlighting that.

    • RE: All About Home Addresses

      Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Since the registration for my son will be next year, I’ve decided to try my luck to get into the PV program first. (statistics shows that all PV parents gets a place).
Currently I’m also staying at a rented place which means I would have to break my own tenancy agreement (have to pay for defaulting agreement). And current place is just next to my son’s kindy.
If all else fails, I will then discuss with my tenant and my own landlord.
Such a dilemma, didn’t realise they depend on address on NRIC. If I would have realised earlier I would have plan out both the rentals better. It’s my own fault.

      Hi everyone,

I've received a reply from MOE. They said the address depends on the NRIC.
Seems like I won't be able to do anything about it then. 😢

Ok, seems like I need to ask my tenant where the kids are enrolled.
I called up my intended school and seems like the distance will be based on the submitted nric. This will be a problem for me as I can't change my address yet.
      😱

NRIC address is the standard answer for standard question. You should refer to MOE FAQ for non-standard questions.

Purchase of resale property / yet-to-move-in property will not reflect the new address BUT you are allowed to use them. In your case, it's a similar position except that you have already owned the property. You will have to proof or undertake that you are going to move in and occupy the property before commencement of P1 - not that difficult if you have a proper tenancy agreement showing end of lease as Sep 2019.

As for the tenant, if they use the address for registration, both you and the tenant will be flagged out. HOWEVER, it will be the tenant who will be paying the penalty for using a false address as they know they won't be able to stay in after Sep / before commencement of P1. There's a precedent for these sort of things, you can https://www.asiaone.com/false-addresses-and-p1-registration-moe-rules-and-qas-using-rental-addresses. As a result of the past cases, MOE had since set a new rule in 2015 requiring those gaining admission under the home-school distance priority scheme to live at the address for at least 30 months from the start of the registration exercise. Previously there was no specific length of time set. Thus, your tenant cannot feign ignorance.

      Thanks floppy!
I've emailed moe and I hope to get a reply from them with details on what documentation I would need.
Cause the school admin said there's nothing I can do about it as they only see base on nric address.
I do have proper tenancy agreement. Hope that would help.
