Hi! Need help with this qns. Thanks!

Peter had some $2 notes and $5 notes. He spent 50% of the $2 notes and 3/5 of his $5 notes. The value of the $2 notes left was the same as the value of the $5 notes left. The difference between the value of the $2 notes and the value of the $5 notes he had at first was $45. How much did Peter have at first?

      PiggyLalala:

from the graph, you can see that when h is between 0.7 to 1.5, t is between t1 and t2, t3 and t4. To find t1, t2,t3 and t4, we solve h =1.5. T1 is in the first quadrant, t2 is in the second quadrant, (first cycle)
T3 is in the first quadrant, 2nd cycle and t4 is in 2nd quadrant, 2nd cycle. We dont go on to the third cycle because it has exceeded a day. Therefore t1= basic angle, t2 =pi - basic angle, t3 = 2pi +t1 and t4= t2 + 2pi.

May I know which sch paper is this? Thanks.

Thanks for the explanation! Its from Dunman Sec.

Hi, can anyone please help me with part iii) of the question?
Why did the answer only use h=1.5 to solve and no need to use h=0.7? and why are there 4 answers to h=1.5?

      Thanks!

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

Frank and Benjamin each bought some sheets of paper from a bookstore. If Frank used 40 sheets of paper each day and Benjamin used 80 sheets of paper each day, Frank would have 500 sheets of paper left when Benjamin used up all his papers.

If Frank used 80 sheets of paper each day and Benjamin used 40 sheets of paper each day, Frank would have 20 sheets of paper left when Benjamin used up all his papers.

How many sheets of paper did Frank and Benjamin buy altogether?

Please help me with this. Thanks!

A school bus can either seat 40 children or 30 adults. Given that there are already 24 children and 8 adults seated in the bus, how many more adults can be seated in the bus?

Please help me with this question. Thanks!
