Yes they started this ‘shaming’ stuff since 2017. The weird part is that they ‘punish’ the kids for things like acknowledgement forms to any forms not submitted (which I think half the time it is the parents’ fault as we forgot) and most likely not their fault. Honestly, I m wondering what type of values is the school trying to inculcate in the kids, u get punish for Faults not due to you??

This year, some or all schools are to have oral test in the afternoon. My Son submitted the acknowledgement form to General Office and even went to school early to submit the form. Lo and behold, dun know what happen, the form teacher never receive the form. My Son was singled out the next day after oral as one of candidates who ‘did not’ submit form and the form teacher told him he will get zero for his oral results due to this. Can u imagine what a shock my Son got. He was very affected by this as he tried his best in oral and he was to get zero just because the form was not there and not because he did not submit. I had no choice but to write in to the form teacher to explain and tell her not to penalise him for a fault not due to him. :slapshead:

Hi...Is Best Catering good? What time do they deliver for dinner?

      Hi,

If u r looking for 5 day or they called it 20 day contract catering, they r fine.

If u wat 4 day or 16 day catering, I would recommend u look for other caterers. They treat 16 day contract customers like 2nd/low class customers. You are not allowed to skip any meals unless someone died in your house n you are discouraged from overseas traveling as they dun allow for skipping meals. Essentially, it is their highway or other tinkgkat choices for 4 day week or 16 day contract. In the end u also dun know who are the customers. Lol!

      ASLMUM:
Hi, did anyone's DC enter NUSH via PSLE results, but did not get through the selection test? Are they able to cope with the curriculum? Thanks

      Hi AslMum,

I do not have a DC that enter NUSH via PSLE results. However, during the NUSH tea reception recently, I spoke w a boy (4th Year in NUSH). He was rejected in the selection test during his year, however, he got in w his own merits through PSLE results. I did check w him how he is doing and he is doing fine. All I can say for him is that he is really determined to get into NUSH and he did it! My kudos to him!

I am not sure about this but I heard that if a child did not get pass through the selection test but applied through PSLE, NUSH does look at the fact they did go through the selection test.

      Hope this helps! :salute:
HI, anyone know are the students suppose to wear school uniforms for this saturday tea session ?

Based on NUSH response, ur child can come in either school uniform or casual/outside wear. No requirement of the clothing for the preview. Hope this helps.

Hi Leelimc, you called NUSH? I didn't see any dress code in the email or the invitation card. Wanted to call them to check but was too busy the whole day. Thanks for sharing this information.
Hi flower monster, sorry for late response. Just logged in. We emailed Li Hui on this, the admin that sent out the emails? She responded as wat I have indicated. Great to be any help.

BeContented, my DS decided to wear NUSH shirt that was provided during the selection camp so It is not his school uniform so considered casual? 🤷

Thank you leelimc. How was your child's interview today? All the best!
Interview went fine, surprising short, about 10 mins, ask general questions.
DS in general shocked that the questions are simple n general. Good thing is all the stress level is worth it cos he was given a CO next day. Phew! 😓

      Hi Leeven,

Thanks for the info. Weird that they tell us different things. My understanding of the interview is that they need to clarify some doubts w the child directly and it will take no more than 15 mins. No mention of written & oral. Oh dear.....

WC. This I got from another parent whose child is having interview tomorrow. She has called up the school to check more. Just be prepared and no surprises.

:thankyou: Leeven. I will mentally prepare my DS but will ask him to relax. I believe what urs will be urs. If not, there may be other better plans for you. 😄

      :congrats: to ur DC! :celebrate:
