Then when do they start taking higher Chinese? P2?

I think if the kid is good in CL, then will be recommended to take HCL in P5 & P6.

Previously Anderson started with higher chinese in P1, then in P5 they will be streamed into 2-3 classes of higher chinese based on P4 result.

Starting 2015, moe introduced new Chinese textbook to P1. From that year onwards, new P1 starts with normal Chinese in Anderson. The HOD said that in order for school to teach higher Chinese, they need extra lessons per week, then their art and music classes also have be taught in Chinese, so not many schools can meet such requirements set by moe. Didn't ask when will this new batch of students(currently P2) be offered higher Chinese. I guess probably P5.

Hi, what is CCM stands for? Newsletter says P3 need to stay back for CCM on wed.And what time does it end? Thanks.

CCM is conversational Malay. Does it say P3 gotta stay back? I must have missed it. I thought its optional.

CCM is optional, and is a one-term program(about 10 lessons), so is either in term 2 or 3, will get further info/letter when time comes.

Does anyone know how the P2 CA2 and SA2 result was computed to overall mark? Eg, if CA2 is 90 and SA2 is 94.9, how it comes out overall mark is 90.0.?

I'm interested to know as well. Also, the SA2 results in the result slip is also not the marks in their SA2 papers. How are all these computed? I've tried to call the teacher but to no avail. Why can't they be more transparent? Why can't they just show us what the overall mark comprised of and how it's being calculated, instead of parents guessing. The detailed computation need not be in the report file if there's too much information, but just for parents' info.

How can we be sure that the overall marks are added up correctly.

My boy in p2, the school did gave a very clear breakdown of the assessment components in the feb's newsletter. As part of the implementation of the holistic assessment, they have quiz/test each term n it carries certain percentage in the overall result. sa2 carries only 40%(Maths as an example). So it is an 'over the one year' result rather than just based on sa2 paper.
But in upper primary, sa2 will weight 70% of the overall result.

My kid going to 3.4 next yr,his result also so-so,80+% for 3 subjects, his better result classmates were going to 3.5 n 3.6, so I suppose 5 n 6 are better class, shud be arranged by descending order.

Excuse my ignorance, will they get more benefits by going to better class? E.g better teacher in charge of better class? But I read earlier comments on many mid pri teachers not efficient, are these teachers fr better class or normal one? It makes me worry tat my kid will face these issues next yr if only better class get better teacher...

Wonder if this \"new\" principal has any plan to improve all parents n students feedback?? Why is she not working on it? Initially tot she just step in n need time to improve on those issues, communications, academic, etc.. But so far, I only see her signature on the newsletter??? More n more complains from many parents in many areas when picking up our kids aft sch, but seems like not getting any better..Sigh!

Will they be inform Chinese class on last day or must wait till next yr?

Mine too! 🙂 finally found someone going 3.4. His results also so so, average also 80%+. Basically his Chinese dragged down everything.

My ds will be in 3.4 too :), his result also round 80%+.

The bookshop staff said the holistic file will be used till P3. This year P1 booklist has this but somehow not in P2 booklist.

Talking about certificates, how do you maintain the school result slips inside the Achievement file? I find that after some times, the ink from the result slip will stick to the folder. If you adjust the slip, then it becomes part of text stick on the plastic folder and some other text remain on paper slip.
Laminate the result slips before slot into the folder? any other ways? Thanks!

If not wrong, the holistic folder was the one given by school to all students during children’s day last year(however, at the back of the folder bottom corner it printed "Anderson Primary School, National Day 2012").

      Hi Taobaby,

My ds is also in 2.2 for Chinese 🙂
Huang Laoshi is very good, give very good advice(if you manage to get hold of her), but seems very very busy as she also taught upper primary(last year). I sent her email, she didn't reply.
My ds 2.3 form teacher also changed, not Mrs Mahimy anymore(she becomes co-form teacher instead, not sure why), she is also a very good and caring teacher....
