In the report last year, there is an \"affirmation of character excellence report\", which said that DS \"was awarded Affirmation of Character excellence forms\". What is the meaning? THX!

It's the blue merit form that teachers can give out.

Why did the mentor write such words? There were no such remarks before.
MS that applied for NYGH or RGS got more chance?

πŸ˜“ Just curious because DD is MS and she very worried cannot get in, she say lots of competitors there. All very good. :frustrated:

There are only 223 GEP girls, and 343 GEP boys.

So NYGS or RGS must give more COs to MSers.

this year -
which school offered more CO, to Mainstream girls ?
NYGH or RGS, offer more to Mainstream ?
by how many more ?
πŸ˜“ , if we know how many GEP classes in these two school, we can find which sent more COs to MSers.
As we know, there are 6 GEP classes in RI, and 2 GEP classes in HCI.

Cat Woman:
This is my personal opinion and what I have figured out after gone through couple of DSA applications with my children......

The chances of getting CO for GEPs are higher in RI over HCI as nearly 90% of GEP boys in our school got CO from RI as compare to slightly above 60% from HCI. In fact quite a number of boys were rejected by HCI.

I think HCI entrance test place a very important part.
We came to know that the top ms student in our school were rejected by RI through DSA but he managed to get in with 270+ PSLE score.

As I understand there is only ONE ms student who got CO from RI as he consistently top in all MO competitions but interestingly he was rejected by HCI.

Through all these years of observing the DSA selection process, I personally felt that ms student will not stand a good chance to get CO from RI as they give priority to GEP.

If your children are not GEP, why not try to apply DSA through sports as every year RI offered quite a number of DSA to students who are very good in certain sports.
:goodpost: :thankyou: for your courage.
I believe the informations are precise. They answer some puzzling problems, which some persons try to hide or even mislead.
~90%+~60%, nearly 100% GEPs got COs in your school, :rahrah:

When did the ONE lucky ms boy enter the secondary? πŸ˜‚

The ms boys must be great if they can apply in DSA through both sports and academic subjects. :salute:

OK, the truth is helpful for KSPs and their children preparing the future DSA, and understanding the previous DSA results.
It is enough.

All through DSA via Maths domain? Where can we find such info?
唯恐倩下不乱 :nunchuk:? πŸ˜†
The MO results must be an important factor in DSA.
Present the most important thing is preparing the PSLE. Do not say such things liao.

Anyway, a number of posters have stressed that MO competitions do not offer much advantage in DSA.
Just tell you a truth, not hearsaying:
in the 53 platinum of Smops last year, there are ~45 boys. 9 boys went to HCI, 10 boys went to NUSH, and ~23 boys went to RI.
only 3 boys went to other schools.

Leooel,
I vaguely remember reading your posts which seems to be pretty unhappy with GEP/RI and feeling that RI is wasting MS time. I do not know if I had interpret correctly. BUT reading this post now, if I am a MS parent, I would naturally assume this sentence is from a GEP parent and would be fuming over such mentality. So may I know what is your purpose in doing this?
πŸ˜‚ Relax lah.
As we know, there only are about ~100 GEPpers are rejected. I think it is ruthless for their being rejected, coz their parents put so much hope on these children.
So I think it is better to ensure them have a CO at least. These children have to learn many GEP projects, and possibly cannot beyond many excellent MSers in the scores of Psle. This will be the second big strikes on both kids and their pretty KSPs.
GEP is a special program and should ensure our gifted children having a free environment. Sometimes, the Psle scores cannot reflect the creativity of a GEPper.
