Hi,

For those get into IP sch other than NUSH then hv to worry what if they fail or not do well in their A level exam after 6 yrs. For NUSH, the marks fr Y3 to Y6 contribute to the total score in the NUSH diploma, not only the final exam in Y6. Hence, students are less stressful in Y6 compared to other IP schools' students. That why I prefer mine to get into NUSH as the sys ensures they work consistently thr'out 6 yrs & prevent 'last-min studying'.
      For those joining in y1, percentage contributing to GPA of 5 are y1 (10%) Y2 (10%) y3 (20%) y4 (20%) y5 (20%) y6 (20%).

      For those joining y3, it is y3 (25%) y4 (25%) y5 (25%) y6 (25%)

Hence NUSH emphasise consistent performance throughout the 6 years and not a single exam situation like \"A\" level. πŸ˜„
Thought I read somewhere that the foundation years are not counted at all ?
Though the principal open house slide show GPA results from Y3 onwards (to cater for the small Y3 intake) I did read somewhere in the website or the school powerpoint that Y1 and Y2 did actually contribute 10% each and 20% for y3-y6. I think it only fair this way else the Y1/Y2 kids have no motivation to work hard for the foundation years which is very critical for y3-y6. πŸ˜„
Pg 7 of 'NUSH Programme of Studies 2011' (from NUSH website) mention weightage contr toward grad CAP.. πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„
For your info, august 9 is a no school day for teachers and students but not for the admin staff. It is still a work day for admin staff. Thus it is still possible that results will be out on aug 10 itself.

They said results will be sent via registered email.
What is a registered email ?

Maybe the staff was trying to say send via registered \"eh\" mail, in partial hokkien!
Outlook 2007 has feature 'Send a message with an S/MIME receipt request' -

An S/MIME (S/MIME: Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) is a specification for secure e-mail messages that uses the X.509 format for digital certificates and uses various encryption algorithms such as 3DES.) receipt is an e-mail security feature used to request confirmation that a message was received unaltered. It also includes information about who opened the message and when it was opened. This verification information is returned as a message in your Inbox.

Congrats to all the girls with COs so far.

As for the boys, next week should have exciting news.

NUSH says COs will be sent out by 10/8 on their website. 10/8 is a holiday for them. So latest to get news will be 8/8.

      Maybe even tomorrow.

      Getting nervous now.......

      Hi ngbrdad,

Talking about public transport. how far is it to walk in from commonwealth avenue west to NUSH ?

I notice there are bus stops nearby the beginning of Clementi Avenue 1 along commonwealth avenue west. Buses like 96, 183 etc all stop there too before they travel further to turn at SP.
If the walk is not too long, may be a better idea to stop there and walk in, can take many more different buses.
Only thing is need to cross a busy road coming from Clementi MRT.

Think if walk leisurely from C'wealth Ave West, maybe 15 mins or so...still a long walk compared to the stop at Clementi Rd.

But in the evening, I understand it's not easy to get onto the bus at clementi rd coz always packed.

take bus 196/198 to and from BV mrt station.. πŸ•Ί
I have question wrt public transport.

Right now, the only way I know is to take bus #183 at the bus stop at Clementi Station ( opposite Clementi mall ) and alight three stops later along Clementi road and walk abt 250m (after crossing overhead bridge) to get to the Sch.
      Any other way? TIA.

Good news for all the NUSH kids on Public transport. Come 8 Oct when Circle Line is fully running, Kent Ridge is the nearest MRT Stn, barely 3 minutes bus ride ( only 2 stops) on the express AYE. From back gate take bus 97, 197, 963 at Bus stop 17129 (after NUSH school) to kent Ridge MRT. Opp Bus stop (17121 , Blik 610) is the stop to alight when you take the bus from kent ridge NUH bus stop after coming out of MRT Stn.

That's good news indeed! TFS. πŸ˜„
:goodpost:
