    • RE: DSA 2016

      Hope21:
      Just to share,

Teachers will be busy in May(exam+marking/checking papers/marks report book etc).
I don't think anyone will want to call/email teachers in June. They may not be in Singapore (holiday).
So if one need recommendation letters/testimonials from form/cca teachers, inform early and give ample time.
Photocopy P5 and P6 mid year results (some DSA school required p4 results) before returning report book to teacher.
If child is a school prefect, you may want to get a certificate/testimonial from teacher-in-charge.
Don't forget awards and other certificates.

DSA form may state:Submission of documents must reach General Office before ddmmyyyy, 12 noon. Late and/or incomplete submission will NOT be processed.

      Best of luck.

Very good reminders! Thanks a million! :thankyou:

      Same here...several mini tests. Your boy's SA1 is 40%? 2moro do what we can...Saturday relax a little...i have a phobia for crowds.

Whoever it is, the 2 exams are indeed 'heavy weights'.
      Yup! SA1 40% n SA2 60% 😉

      Just to share some tips.

My children are 16 and 14 years old now. My daughter (16) and my son (14) did not have tuition for Science. In order to help in their Science, my husband who taught them Science will only print elite school papers from http://www.testpapersfree.com/ and asked them do it.

As for the Science MCQ, we bought this :
      https://ao.popular.com.sg/jsp/product/p ... d001=95421

This book is a good revision for P3 - P6 Science chapters on MCQ.

My husband has a system that if my children score less than 85% for that chapter, he would make sure my children revise that chapter from this book :
      Science PSLE Revision Guide, https://www.mceducation.sg/catalogue/bo ... bed150ca6/

He would asked my children to finish this MCQ book during their P6 June holiday, did 1 chapter per day.

As for the Maths, i guided and taught my children. They both scored A and A* respectively for their PSLE. I am quite free now, so i started to give Maths tuition. I have 2 students, 1 is P4 from Sengkang primary school and 1 is P5 from Mee Toh school. School can accept any methods for Maths questions as long as a student can derive the answer but i really do not recommend simultaneous equation method. This is really a tedious method................ When we look at this website for the Maths solutions from few experts, we do not see simultaneous equation method.

I hope my informations can help the anxious parents. I had been through these and i know how you feel.

Thanks for the tips! I will get those books that u recommended! 😉

My P5 boy SA1 weighs 40% n SA2 60% no CA for P5 this year. They had 2 mini revision tests b4 SA1. School didn't want to demoralize them as it a big jump fr P4.
