All my 3 children are having tuition class at Edify. It’s conducted by a team of ex-MOE teachers. My children enjoys the lessons there and personally I’m quite impressed with the academic rigour. My son who was doing both P6 math and science there says all his classmates at Edify scored between AL1 to AL3.

Lily, may I know which maths center are your kids at now?

I am still researching what would be best for my son at p2 level. Oodles is one of my consideration. I do see a mix response for Oodles.

Maths lab is another option I'm considering but it's on the expensive end.

I signed up next door with Edify: Math & Science, my kids initially only did Science with them and I could some improvement. Subsequently we signed up for Math as my son seems to prefer Edify. Personally it was also more reassuring for me as the tutors are all ex-MOE teachers. I'm not sure if they offer P2 math though.

Any good recommendations for P6 chinese tuition? Private or tuition centre around serangoon/kovan area.

My children withdrawn from there after almost a year there, think it was average... In the end signed up with another tuition centre near the area.

It's been a long time since anybody talked about TLL. They are now very different from maybe 5-8 years ago, when the bulk of students in many top schools are all TLL students. Now you can only find a few kids in each class who still go for TLL, and rarely for math.

Wished I saw this earlier. Spent 2 years and a lot of money enrolling my children at TLL for both math and science. Thought spending more money will push the academic results up, but they got only worse. In the end just signed up for a small tuition center conducted by ex-MOE teachers, at least their results improved.

I was told by the science HOD from my kid’s school that magnetism passing through non-magnetic objects is no longer in syllabus since many years ago… I wish it was clearer what is in/no longer in syllabus…

I think sometimes finding a god tutor/mentor can help too. My son used to score AL5 to AL6 range, there was once science was AL 7, which came as a huge shock. I also came to believe he was at most poor to average in his studies. My husband says that maybe studying is just not his cup of tea. Took a few tries but finally found a good tutor that encouraged him. First time see him wanted to study on his own and get better. I thought P5 his results confirmed drop, took me by surprise when he got AL2 for the first time.

For Edify I know their worksheets crafted by MOE teachers. Seems to be middle to higher difficulty levels for both Math and Science. Some of the math heuristics super challenging. I found the keywords book and notes very useful for Science. Seems to be in line with the feedback given by teachers in school.

Can try Edify: Math & Science near Kovan. They are a small team of ex-MOE teachers/ PSLE markers. Good tutors, small class size and reasonable pricing. Most importantly my kids enjoy the lesson there

To be fair, this is standard procedure across the tuition centers my daughters have attended. But this is just based on my limited experience.

Some centers are a bit more lenient with their make-up class policies though.

What's the current fees for oodles? yes! i'm glad the current centre my kids go to are flexible about makeup class policies. Hope it stays that way!
