      grace_lee01:
Hi all, not trying to be a hypocrite here but I would like to enquire about some matters before sending my daughter to dunman high

Lastly, why is the school standards dropping so rapidly in PSLE cut off point?
Hi, I would like to address the last point as well. This year top 10% cut off is at 249, on average the whole cohort dropped and that explain why mostly the cut off point for the top popular schools dropped. In actual fact, those popular neighbourhood schools also dropped. If your child took the psle in year 2014,you should have notice the trend.
Whether a secondary school can perform anot should not be determined by the entry of Tscore, it should be the end result which is A level. Again, whether a child can do well in his/her study depends on teachers, child, parents. I believe it takes two hands to clap and work hand in hand together.
Do not send yr child to a school just because if it's popularity . Understand yr child and find out if the school culture, environment and curriculum suits him/her.
Lastly,if you do not have faith in that dunman high, then I think you should choose another school which you deemed it's good.

Congrats to u n yr son for being offered CO fr DHS...
Thank u very much for yr kind words.... i juz do my best to respond to queries should i know the answers ....i can absolutely understand the need to gather more info abt a sec sch ... so we, as parents, can advise our children accordingly n make informed decisions... i recall at that time when i first stepped into this thread...seeking info abt DHS when my gal was in P6....i know nothing abt DHS then...
This thread wasnt active, not much info to be found here...
neither were there discussions in other threads...
At that time, some parents had PMed me ( i believe out of good will) as NOT to choose DHS...as DHS was new into IP n its A level results were not proven ...
Since i had all other choices, i shd pick the well established IP schs ...
Fast forward to now, i believe i have made the RIGHT decision, together with my gal...
She likes her sch, her teachers ( Ah...not all lah but she said most )
her Dunmanian friends, She enjoys the sch curriculum...her CCAs, actively pursue in internal / external enrichments N leadership trainings...
All in all, an enriching school life...Hereby, wish your son a happy n enriching embarkment in his next education journey....

Thank you both, zbear and Augmum...I believe the thread will gets more and more active as good things shall be shared along the way. :lovesite:

My son has a CO from DHS. We are all so looking forward to his next adventure in DHS.

I really love this forum as Augmum has provided much valuable infor to those who need it n well prepared us what to expect next year.
Agree with Louis on his post as well. I believe if the students and parents work hard in hand together with the school teachers, I believe the our kids can strive well in wherever they are. What most impt is they must like the school and it’s culture.
