    • RE: Networking Group - JCs General

      Dear all,

L1R5 results have just been released and I am looking for a JC for my son (raw score is 9 and he doesn’t get any bonus point). One of the key criteria is boarding facilities as he is in Singapore alone. Does anyone know if any of those JCs (Temasek, Eunoia, Anderson, St Joseph’s, St Andrew’s, etc) have the hostel? Many thanks

My son is going to Sec 3 and received list of 130+ schools including NJC, TJC, VS, SJI, ACS(I). I put NJC first and VS second as I need boarding facilities for my son. Got Victoria. Am contacting the school for a place in their hostel.

    • RE: School Placement Exercise for returning S'porean children

I have also just received the list of my son’s SPERS result (>133 schools) stating that he is eligible for Express Course Sec. 3. As my son, who is a PR, has been living overseas for his entire 8 school years, I would be grateful if anyone can help to shed light on below queries:

      1) Is IP much stressful than Express Course? I was told that IP is a 6-year program. As my son will join Sec.3, he has lost 2 years and needs to catch up quite a bit if he chooses IP. With Singapore’s curriculum being known to be tough, I don’t want to stretch my son too much until he cannot cope with it. It’s even more worried when we are planning to let him stay in boarding school as we have to stay abroad due to work requirement.

      2) Since my kid is Vietnamese, his Chinese is quite limited. Can he just take Chinese as a foreign language?

      3) Does any one has certain information on the boarding fee of schools in Singapore. I have done an extensive search but some schools don’t have such information.

The result was out at noon 25 Nov '15 and they asked us to submit by 30 Nov '15. As the time is of essence, your help/answers are greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      NDM
