A few years back, heard from the grapevine...somebody went to call up MOE to find out, exactly where the 1km radius is measured from. Answer: measured from the school’s flagpole.

Reason was, the somebody was living in a landed property. Her next-door neigbour was considered to be <1km but her house was not. The main gates were only 1m apart. Hence the prompt to check, measure from where.

Anyway, if like the rumour says, measured from a single point, then expansion of the school grounds will not matter.

Unless they shift the flagpole...

If the school perimeter expands, the 1km radius could potentially expand. However, most schools’ expansion are done without acquiring new land or expanding its perimeter.
