i have always thought phase 2B is indicative of how much parents really want their child to enter a school as phase 2B is the phase where parents have to put in effort to volunteer either in the school/ clan/ religious organisation as compared to going into ballots for phase 2C which is purely down to distance
So i did some number crunching and the data tells an interesting story
while Holy Innocents’ Primary had grabbed headlines, the real demand is for a spot in Nan Chiau Primary where 112 parents registered for phase 2B
MSHS came in third in terms of popularity behind SJI (Junior) and Holy Innocents’ amongst schools affiliated to ACCS (The Archdiocesan Commission for Catholic Schools) and 11th nation wide
For schools within the vicinity, MSHS appears to have a strong appeal. In fact, it appears there were more applicants at phase 2B compared to last year (30 applicants in 2023 based on MOE website)
