yes I agree but I would still pay for quality education......I don't mean tuition here....my kids have no tuition.....

I am not referring to tuition fees, I am talking about school fees, that's why I mentioned that neighbourhood schools are also capable of producing good students. I am paying the $125/mth school fees myself but I can see that son's attitude makes a greater impact as compared to the school. Same school, same teacher, but outcomes can be quite varied amongst his classmates. My kids have no tuitions too.

Errr... If you don't believe that the $125/mth school provides a high quality education, then why not just put your son in a neighborhood school?
Because it is his dream school. And he made it with his efforts and help from school teachers. So I have no reason to object. But I told him to do his best and get the scholarship so as to defray some cost on the school fees.

My point here is, even if it is a good and expensive school, a lot still depends on the child. And like others have said, not many can afford the schools fees and that's where help is available in terms of bursery.

for me I am most willing to pay for education, other things/wants can wait or cutback....

Expensive education fees does not always equate to good education. A lot still depends on the child's own attitude. I have a neighbour whose son was from a neighbourhood Sec school and did well enough to study Medicine now.

The upcoming OH is by nygh on 25/3. I expect parents might be asking all these hard questions. I might go kaypoh and hear what Mdm Heng has to say.

Did anyone ask this question? Why are you volunteering this info? :scratchhead:
Hi everyone, just came to drop a quick little something for my 姐姐们 and 妹妹们...

Nemation 11 voting has started! Would appreciate if you could go vote for C05 and C07(the 2 teams from St. Nicholas)
      Thanks in Advance!

(Why am I so enthu it's not even mine..)

      Hi StillThinking,

Can you share with us how the year 4 姐姐们 did in the O level last year?

Well, they didn't say much about it. They only mentioned it briefly along with PSLE during morning assembly... I remember hearing that the Sec 4 姐姐们 got 50% 60% 70% and even 80% for a certain subject in terms of numbers of distinctions? (dead serious can't remember if it was 80% or 90%). Whatever it was, it was excellent, I clearly remember concluding at this thought when the principal was saying the number of distinctions...

However, there was no ice cream... I'm not one with a sweet tooth so I didn't realise until now... but there wasn't... fyi ice cream is given out to everyone when the O level results of our 姐姐们 is good(which I've heard from those from the primary sect. is literally every year...) I'm not too sure what this means...

I'm so sorry I'm not able to help much
Thank you StillThinking, I heard about the ice cream too, maybe different principal different style.

      Anyway thanks again!

I think it was one group at a time, when 3 boys came out, 3 went in.

So we can roughly estimate the number of boys they call up for itv then :? ..Assuming starting from 3.30 - 5.00 pm, each group is 1/2hr

      3 boys x 4 sessions = 12 boys
      Mon - Fri = 12 x 5 days = 60 boys?

You think RI only interviews 12 boys per day ? RI conducts interviews (groups of 3 boys) concurrently in numerous rooms on the same day.

DS was asked what animal he wanted to be & why. Another group was asked what furniture, while other groups were asked what super powers. Mostly 'weird' questions.. 😉

General feedback was that the interviewers were friendly and the interviews were like chit-chat sessions. Tell your boys to relax and enjoy the moment. No need to prepare too much.

Good Luck to all !! :rahrah:
Oh ok, it was conducted concurrently. :spank:

There were 3 teachers and 3 boys all from different schools. My son's group was not asked to present their projects, but I heard others were. Hence, just prepare just in case. Some questions asked were \" if you were given a special power, what do you wish to have.\". The rest I can't remember .

There's more than one interview panel going on at the same time on the same day, right?
