Am waiting for DHS too. By 31 Aug and strictly by post it says on their website...

may I know which domain? I don't know if they send out all domains together or not. so far all I heard seems all sports and performing arts got result by mid Aug already.

Oh my DS applied through sports. He has checked with a couple of his schoolmates who also applied through sports, so far nothing heard. Oh gosh, I think most probably not selected.
Don't worry, so far didn't hear any CO from DHS, just a matter of time only.

No News for my DD, she applied SCGS under leadership.
Also no news for SNGS leadership and Dunman High Girls Guide. 😓

    • RE: Poi Ching

My girl did not go for any tuition, besides I CAN READ which she finished 3 months before P1, so that she is able to read. Her childcare center had equipped her well enough to transit into P1. Both Math and English she can cope well on her own. Only Chinese I need to go through spelling with her. Now I don’t plan to send her for any tuition classes, rather let her enjoy her childhood since Poi Ching’s homework already looked more than enough to me.

      Hi,

I would like to know whether there are a lot of homeworks, mini tests, etc for P1?

quite a lot of homework, esp chinese. my girl is in P1 now, she had 2 chinese 识字 test every week, cuz they learn 2 chapters every week. after every 5 chapters there will be a chinese spelling test. and english spelling once a week. although all these mini tests are not weighted, still you had to prepare your kids for that.

i normally leave my girl to finish her homework every night, which took her about half to 1 hour every night. then i need to spend another half hour at least to prepare her for the mini tests. those weighted tests are on going, every term had about 2-4 weighted test for each subject, such as pick and tell, chinese reading, test, mock test, etc.

if you compare with other schools, definitely life in poi ching is not easy, not only for kids, esp for parents!

    • RE: 13yo travelling to China ALONE

I am sending my P1 girl to Adelaide during Jun holiday. My parents will be there for a holiday with my cousin. My girl was so excited about it. But I am not sure if she can really manage it without any hiccup. If ask me to send her to China alone, definitely i don’t feel comfortable I guess.

not sure if you had sent your helper back, what i did last time is just to cancel and post back her work permit to MOM. then buy her a one way ticket and send her to airport.
