i’m staying bedok central. My girl will take the school bus back to student care after school. As CCA is not compulsory for P1 & 2, thus, she didnt join any for now.

      Hi Alwayslucky

On the day of balloting, for those who fail to secure a place, the school will give you a form immediately to fill in 3 choices of school. They will then fax the form to MOE to allocate the school of your choice. Imagine how devastated I was that time…on one side of the classroom you see the who were successful, happily queuing up to get the admission letters for orientation. On the other side were those unsuccessful ones, queuing up to get the form for MOE to allocate a place.

If I remembered correctly, OEPS have 30plus vacancies for those who failed in phase 2C(S) during last year’s registration.

      Hi Hi

In last year’s phase 2C(S), all the applicants in Bedok Green are staying within 1km and balloting was conducted. I was one of the unlucky one to be balloted out. So if you have decided to try at Bedok Green, please have a 2nd choice in mind cos if you happen to be the same as me, the school will give you a form immediately after the balloting exercise to fill up 3 choices of school for your child and MOE will post your child to the nearest school.

      Hi

I was superstressed during the phase 2CS balloting. Nearly broke down when my girl was balloted out.

My girl likes her form teacher the best. There are no exams for P1 & P2, however, they will have 2 tests for each subject in each term, which I find it useful as this will be a gage on whether your child is catching up in the school work. There are also enrichment programs in each term which are conducted during curriculum hours. Term 1 - English Speech & Drama, Term 2 - Chinese Speech & Drama and Term 3 - Maths enrichment.

      Hi Happyvon

I have the same problem as you last year. My girl was balloted out of Red Swastika in phase 2C and again out of Bedok Green in phase 2C(S). In next week’s registration, most of the parents will register at Bedok Green becos of the convenience. You will need to go through another round of balloting again if you decide to register at Bedok Green.

I have no regrets putting my girl in OEPS. She enjoys going to school. She has no problem adjusting to P1 from the start of the school term. I believe the school has also done their part to assist the newbies to adjust to P1 life. She enjoys going to school.

can i checked if there is student care within the sch?

cos both DH and i are working currently...

There's one opposite the school (across the carpark) but not sure if it's affiliated to the school.

The student care is not affiliated to the school.

Base on last year’s result, temasek pri was a "hot" school" which requires balloting in phase 2C. If you fail in phase 2C, you can only register at St Anthony in phase 2C(S). Last year’s registration, balloting is also required in Phase 2C(S) for those who stay > 1km.

yes, red swastika definitely need to ballot if you are registering in phase 2c. I think they are slowly reducing their intakes each year to cater for single session. I balloted for my daughter during last year’s registration and was unsuccessful. When I registered in Bedok Green in phase 2C(S), ballot again and was again unsuccessful. In the end, she has to go to a school further away.

    • RE: 2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

I doubt the new policy will help in the registration. Based on my experience last year, I went throught 2 rounds of balloting, in phase 2C and phase 2C(S). There is just a handful of PRs in that 2 phases, definitely less than 10 PRs and the subcription rate is probably 1 vacancy: 3 children. I think if MOE really wants to give priority to Singaporeans, they should create another phase for PRs. Let all Singaporeans registered first, followed by PRs then foreigners.
