    • RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)

      kiasuFoo:
dd has gotten B3 for HCL which is totally unexpected as she is a A student for Chinese all way long. DHS does not offer retake of HCL which will leave her the option of taking on H1CL or leave it be. She is worried that the B will affect her A level results as she has one less distinction. Will it affect university admission? Should she consider to take on H1CL which is kind of time consuming? Need some advice on it from parents... Thanks.

Is it possible to retake HCL as a private candidate if DHS does not offer that?

      Hi everyone,

Do you know if there car-pool/cab-pool from Hougang to Duncan high?
      Thank you.
There are many students who stay in North East. They mostly take MRT to Mountbatten and then either walk or take 158 to the school.

For those looking to have data access in Japan, you can rent a Pocket Wifi (aka egg) which can share among a few people.

The one we used was from: http://www.globaladvancedcomm.com/pocketwifi.html
It was delivered to our hotel before we arrived. We paid 5,550 yen for 7 days of rental.

Can I check if the access is only to wifi spots around the cities or a 3G/4G mobile net work. Is the coverage good?

We checked some offers which were for wifi networks around the country only and didn't get them as we were sure how widespread those hotspots were.

It is using the mobile network for data, just like we use our phones in Singapore. Those only use wifi spots are not useful.

2A2C travel in Tokyo MUST stay in 2 hotel rooms de ah?
as in 1 room for 1A1C
is it bcos they are all small in design?
there are few hotels with rooms equipped with 2 Twin beds?

      thks for any precious inputs.
      Not necessarily.
Hotels near Tokyo Disney usually have big rooms with beds enough for 2A2C (e.g. Sheraton).
In Tokyo you can find rooms that fit 3 beds. We stayed in Hotel Century Southern Tower and chose Scenic Twin Room, which came with 2 full size beds (1.2m width), and can add 1 single bed.

      Hi,

I am planning to go to Japan F&E (Tokyo & Osaka) with our children (9 &10 yo) in Dec. May I ask if anyone can help to give me some recommendations?

      1) Universal Studios in Osaka

      2) We will go to Disney land & Disney Sea in Tokyo.

Any other places to recommend? How many days should we spend in each place (Tokyo & Osaka)?

      3) We are looking for Indoor water theme park near Tokyo too. Any to recommend?

      4) If you have an itinerary to share, please let me know!

      Thank you in advance!
How long is your trip? If it is less than 7 days, just stick to one city. Tokyo Disney will need at least 2 full days already (3 is better).

    • RE: Travel: Korea - General

If you have been to good theme park like Tokyo Disney Resort, you may be disappointed with Korea’s theme park. Everland to us was ok only, and Lotte World was boring - we in and out within 3 hours (including meal time).

      Hi lwm99,

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes I have 5 of us.
For free and easy, how do you travel from 1 place to another,
By taxi? Any hotels to recommend in Seoul and jeju.
If we go Everland, is it we have yo stay near there?

      Thanks

      Karin
Karin, those answers can be found easily by google or reading travel guides. Do spend some time find the information you want. You will learn and gain more that way. In fact, that is also part of the enjoyment of planning for a trip.
