      Anyone can confirm? :boogie:

      Thanks in advance :xedfingers:

Bring the health booklet. All the details should be in there. File any other certs in this booklet if any.

I have a son in DLS school and my daughter will be enrolled for next year. It’s up to each child to excel in their school work and the school and teachers are very supportive in cultivating their skill set and most importantly, morals and values. School work is manageable - 10 English words and phrase in weekly spelling test and about the same or more in Chinese spelling.

Unity school has improved in the recent years after a change in teaching staff and principal. Both are good schools in this region although DLS is more popular - afterall, it was a missionary school with a long history since 1952.

It’s very hard to get a place in DLS and I was very lucky my son was enrolled in phase 2C without balloting but the whole process kept me on edge. Enrollment to Unity school is easier I reckon.

According to DLS school website, there are 81 vacancies in phase 2C. There were 100 when my son was enrolled for the year 2014.

details for DLS as at 1115am

      vacancy: 100 (1 withdrawal frm 2a2)
      SC, <1km: 92
      SC, 1-2km: 26

SC 1-2km are fighting for 8 slots left and provided in the afternoon no additional SC, <1km apply.

i am not going to take my chance at DLS anymore as i am under 1-2km.

currently looking at CCKPS or may take a chance at SV cos i am SC, <1km for these 2 schools.

anyone has any advise on which school i should go for? CCKPS or SV? left only a few hours to make my decision 😞

      thk u..

I think the situation at SV is more intense than DLS. You may wanna take a look at YTPS too.

Hi all, I'm a daddy and keen to put my son in DLS. In fact I am afraid to take a risk in the upcoming phase 2C until I saw there're 99 places available. Historically speaking, is that higher than previous years? I stay within 1km from the school. I welcome any advice. Thanks.

      Hi,

Since SC got absolute priority in all registration phases, your chance of getting in at phase 2C is very high esp. when you stay within 1km from the school.

However, you may like to monitor the situation first in the 1st 2 days of registration to get a feel of the no. of SCs vs PRs registering and also no. of SCs registering residing within 1km from the school.

This will enable you gauge the probability of 100% chance of getting in upon registration.

This was what I did when I registered my DD1 last year at YTPS. I registered at the end of Day 2 when I was quite sure she can get in as we stay within 1km from the school after looking at the registerations after 2 days.

Wish you all the luck and happy school hunting :rahrah:

I've registered my son on the first day around 3pm. I was told there were about 75 people who registered in the morning session but I don't know if they are all residing within 1km or otherwise.

if you are a SC and staying within 1km...then should be very safe....last year ballot was for SC staying 1-2km....

this year phase 2c 99 vacancies vs 84 in 2012....mainly due to lower Phase 2b intake this year...(40 vs 59 in 2012)....high chance that SC might not even go to ballot
Yes we are SCs. Thanks Kanzer.
