Bring her back to the maid agency first. They have ways to find out if what she says is true.
Mum passing away is one of the most common excuse to make up.
If you think you don't want this maid anymore since she has records of lying, return her to the agency ( that will save you the air-ticket ), they will find her another employer as she still has an outstanding loan.

And you can find another maid.

I usually practice one in and one out so it doesn't disrupt my housework.

My maid claimed her mum passed away last night and subtly hinted that she would like to go back.
